 They told me that tomorrow they'll make big deal out of it, but try to forget what happened yesterday, and stay focused on your doubles, and they stayed focused on your match, the singles. It's nice to see people so much interested in you, you still have to focus on what you have to do.

 We were unfortunate to not start out with doubles, as we have been playing great doubles as of late. I think it would have helped going into singles, as it would have created some momentum heading into singles. Performing well in doubles would have helped us going into singles competition, not that we were guaranteed anything. They made us play and were the better team today. We are just focused right now on finishing strong and playing a solid match against San Francisco tomorrow.

 Overall we did a good job today. I'm really pleased with the way our guys focused in singles play. My only concern was that we were a little sloppy at our No. 2 and No. 3 doubles and we can't afford to do that in our next match. We just need to keep taking care of winning the doubles point and continue to be strong in singles. I know that the guys are aware that we can still be better.

 We're trying to stay mentally focused at the beginning of singles. We need to put an exclamation point on the doubles, and we did a better job of that today.

 It's a long 20 laps. I try to stay focused and talk to myself a lot. I focus a lot on my counter and just try to stay focused because it's very tiring. So staying focused is a big part of the race.

 I talked to Dan Marino. He told me to stay focused and that I'd get butterflies and be nervous and that there would be anxious feelings, but to make sure I stayed under control and not let it get the best of me. He said to enjoy it, have fun, because you never know if it's going to come back.

 We were up 5-4 in two of the doubles but they ended up pulling away and winning all three doubles. We had a 3-setter at No.4 (singles) and had a close match at No.6. Every girl has to have the day of their life tomorrow. They're tough.

 We don't really discuss that. We're all aware of it, but we don't talk about it much. We've taken the approach all season to just focus on the match or tournament at hand. Like I told the girls before this tournament, I just want them to go out and have fun. I want them to stay focused, but have some fun while they're out there.

 We're still struggling in doubles. Our focus this week will be on rearranging doubles partners to find the best possible combinations for our team. Bottom line though, was our singles play. We came in and got it done in singles and it resulted in a victory. I give credit to all of the singles players today. They played real hard.

 This was the way we wanted to start. Our goal was to shoot even par or better, and we accomplished that. I thought the girls stayed focused on their scores and their shots. We need to continue that focus tomorrow.

 I'm really focused on the doubles, because I like to watch them and see how they compete and cheer for them. After that, I'm just focusing on my singles.

 We are confident in our singles. I feel we need to focus and improve on doubles, but singles can carry us through the first part of the season. We are not going to get hung up on doubles.

We've been talking about hey, we're going to stay focused and stay even-keeled, and to prove it today, that's what we wanted to do, just back up our talk. [Show] that we can play a focused game without losing the passion and intensity, and that's what happened.  For sure, I was in a bad position and I couldn't find a solution...but I just tried to stay focused on every point. I felt that she was nervous to win, she was a little bit scared to win this match. At that point I was very calm because I knew I just had to play each point and stay focused.

 We all had new partners and it was hard. We focused more on singles in practice and haven't played doubles much. We did the best we could with time together, but we need to get used to each other.
