I don't think necessarily we're going to get a big summer rally, but maybe a positive tone to the market.

 I think we're going to be looking to the bluest of the blue chips. This is going to be an important week for the stock market, and I think most of the surprises are going to be on the high side.

 Fundamentally, I think the stock market is fairly valued, but there are a lot of issues around that are causing investor concern.

 The market is torn between the implications of the stock market fall and the economic news, ... The performance of stocks next week will determine who wins this tug of war.

 This is clearly a pretty good performance in what's a seasonally quiet period. The fact that shares are down is simply a reflection of the previous good run the stock has had.

 I don't think we'll get any big surprises in the economic news next week, ... What the market will be looking for are any clues that point to anything other than four percent GDP (gross domestic product) growth.

 I would sum up this week as being volatile and horrible. It's underlining investor concern about what's going on over this results period. By and large, results have been good, but any bad news from any company has got a real overreaction to it.

 If market psychology outweighs the fundamentals for smaller issues, then it could be a tough week for small cap stocks. Then again, we're seeing a broadening out of performance occurring in the smaller issues and that's a positive sign.

 The market hates surprises. But we believe the odds substantially favor that the Fed will not raise interest rates next week, and that the market will take that as some degree of relief, unless they say something nasty. But basically we think we're into a good summer rally.
