 He was a show drummer. There were times that he would outshine Michael at their shows.

 I've always believed -- and if I'm wrong, great, sue me -- but the thing that made Michael different was that Michael always tried to find someone who knew how to do it better and have them show him the direction to go.

 Michael said he had a wire running from ear to ear that would become red hot. He couldn't hold a band together because his ideas were so revolutionary and so hot. When he got frustrated, he would turn to his favorite thing -- watching the Johnny Carson show. One time he was booked to play for 3,000 people in Vancouver. The Carson show was on the same time, so he didn't go on. Michael walked out, left four guitars behind and checked into a motel that had a TV before flying home.

 Having a really solid drummer behind us gave us all a charge. Dave is just this gem in Pittsburgh, this national caliber drummer. We were very fortunate to have him. It's like playing a pickup basketball game with an NBA guy, it just forces you all to play better.

 I told people I was a drummer before I even had a set, I was a mental drummer.

 The medal stand was amazing. I still get tears in my eyes when I think about it. We are very proud of Michael and our other two children. They have all worked hard and earned everything they have. Michael has had to work harder to show people that he can do the same thing as everyone else.

 I think, in some ways, Michael Jackson is out of touch with reality, and I don't think he has people around him who can say, Michael, can't do this. Michael, you can't do that. Michael, you can't say this. You know, I think he has been so big for so long that he can do whatever he wants to do.

 They can't show it as many times during the day, so that may have lessened its box office strength. The fact it did such strong business Christmas day shows there's a lot of interest in the movie.

 Get in there and cut loose and have a good time, ... It's a punk rock show, it's fun, it's got a sense of humor about itself. But nonetheless, it is a (freakin') rock show. It's a show that I think a lot of people have been waiting to come around. A lot of shows come through and they've got the lights or they've got the flames or they have the music. But they don't have both. This show is firing on all cylinders.

 Whatever Michael's faults were, and we all have them, Michael took a moribund company and energized it to a level I'm not sure anyone else could have done. He ensured that Disney provided 10 times the level of entertainment available for children prior to him getting there - high-quality, clean, fun entertainment.

 Representation (on television) is so important to people. Lesbians have never had a show of our own before, so I understand all of the (fan) ranting and raving out there about it.  Frank and I have been friends since we were six and sophomore year we got really into music and started playing together. Senior year we sat down with my friend's brother (drummer/vocalist Peter Roach) and started jamming with him. We had never played with a drummer before Pete.

 It's really neat to look at the top-six times and see how fast the women are. It shows we have a lot of depth. Every year we just keep getting better and better. We wanted to go out in the first races of the year and show that our preparations are going well for the Olympics.

 We played the set with Alex for the first time at midnight the night before [the Chicago concert]. Not exactly how I like to do things, but the only other alternative was to cancel more shows and I am NOT going to do that. I can't begin to tell you what a difficult job it is to replace your drummer in this band, and these guys have truly risen to the high-pressure situation that it is. Onward.
