From Day 1, we have a lot of confidence in what the kids will be able to do in the Major Leagues. Let's just say I'm very guarded in that area. As long as he makes good decisions, I'll let him have a bit of leeway. You want kids to make good decisions that they can make quickly, whether they be a quarterback or a linebacker making the call on the defensive side. He plays with so much more confidence. Last season he essentially was our fifth starter and was out there to defend, and every now and then he'd get out in a passing lane and make a steal and make a play. But this year, he's one of the major players on the floor. He's playing with great confidence at both ends.

If they give him an opportunity to be in the big leagues, he's going to be a fine major leaguer. He's young. He's going to get better and, hopefully, he's going to have the opportunity.

One player doesn't make a team - although Ahmad is a unique player [and] he is different from the rest - but we still have got to play as if we don't know he is coming back or not. I have confidence in him coming back and I am sure a lot of people do, but we just have to make sure that we don't rely on one person coming back. We have to play as if we never know if he is coming back or not.

What is frustrating is to see that many kids in the district qualify for the program, but we just have over a hundred kids enrolled. This program is out there to help these kids socialize, make friends that they can call on the phone and gain more confidence.
