 He's making them count. He's done a good job of carrying this offense, being in the middle part of the order. He's been a big guy for us. What he's going through now, he's doing what we all know he can do. It's nice to have a hitter like that hot at this time of year.

 He's showing he's a little bit better hitter than that. I think he's going to be a middle of the order guy, I really do. You're talking about a young kid here. He's got some growing to do. The big thing is if he's going to be an RBI guy that drives in runs from the middle of the order, that's something we have to find out.

 I wasn't really thinking about it. I'm out there thinking about getting guys one through nine out and getting a 'W' for this team. The streak he had was nice, but obviously it has to end sometime. I know he's a pretty aggressive hitter. Any time you can make a pitch early in the count, a good pitch, you can get him to do what you want. He doesn't usually work the count pretty deep. We were able to throw some quality pitches on him today and get success.

 He's definitely capable of hitting in the middle of the order. But right now, it's best for us with him at the top of the order. Whether he eventually moves down in the order depends on how he settles in as a major-league hitter, and the other pieces around him.

 Bagwell doesn't have much left -- only $15 million US on next year's contract. I don't know whether Houston will use him here or go with Berkman. Everett's a very good hitter even though his physical tools have diminished. He's a switch hitter who is a good fit in the middle of their lineup. And he hasn't caused the club one bit of trouble.

 We have had a lot of long drives this year – they have shown the ability to do that. It's execution and guys making plays - making the catch. Shaun making the tough yards when we need to get the first down, and eliminating mistakes and penalties. They have done a nice job this year of that. We have a little more experience on offense. You should be able to do some of those things.

 A lot of guys get upset in that situation, . He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. .. but he was able to shrug it off. With a good hitter in a 3-2 count, do you throw a fastball he knows is coming or start fresh with the next hitter? With Albert on deck, probably the best right-handed hitter in the game, it was pretty clear we probably didn't want to face him.

 You can't get picked right there. It's a 3-1 count and you have a good hitter at the plate. You're not trying to get a jump. You've got a guy in the middle of your lineup up there and the one thing you cannot do is get picked off. We have talked about it a lot.

 I think they have a really balanced offense this year as far as guys that can get on, and obviously the power that they have in the middle of the lineup. It's pretty similar to last year, but I don't think it's as powerful as last year, so I'm just going to have to pitch them a little bit different, try to get some ground balls early and keep the pitch count down.

 Although Kelsey has been our best hitter this year, Mary's right behind her and lately she's been outstanding. She had a nice hit earlier in the game, so it was difficult to decide to give her up. I let her swing early in the count and then when she got two strikes on her, there wasn't a whole lot of choice.

 If you try to force things against them, you're going to self-destruct. I think their defense is based in part on the premise that an offense has a hard time marching down the field for 80 yards. You're going to get impatient and force something, and that's going to create a turnover or failed third down that causes you to punt. They count on you self-destructing as much as they count on themselves succeeding.

 He will grow into a middle-of-the-order hitter.
