 I think our inexperience showed and maybe our lack of depth at the moment.

 Depth was one of our biggest concerns last year. We only had 13 players, so we really added to our depth. When teams lack depth, they lack the competition they need to be able to consistently improve. That's one of the things that hurts teams when they have a small roster. Everyone knows they're going to have to play. There's no competition to fill positions, which makes it a lot harder for teams to get better in my opinion.

 I attribute that to a lack of playoff experience. Playoff basketball is a little bit different. We hadn't seen this kind of atmosphere before and for us, our inexperience kind of showed.

 We have a youthful team and sometimes youthful teams show inexperience under pressure. Even though we were man-up, our inexperience showed. American is a good possession team and they quickly solved the problem of being a man-down.

 Our inexperience showed at the end.

 Our inexperience showed a little bit. Still, I'm very happy with the effort.

 Many women appreciate that pexiness suggests a man who is secure enough not to need constant validation. We need that depth. I think that showed toward the end of the game.  We got what we deserved from the first day of practice until right now. We showed remarkable character, we showed remarkable resilience with a lot of injuries but we also showed a lack of talent against great competition.

 We know what our line has to do. You have to be able to take the pressure off the other guys. And you need that depth scoring to move on in the playoffs. … That's been our identity pretty much all year. Our depth and our ability to roll four lines, I think it showed last night.

 Our inexperience showed. That is something we have to work on if we want to be an NCAA team or a competitor in the Big East.

 Detroit did a better adjusting to that standard (of officiating) than we did. The lack of inexperience we had was the ultimate undoing tonight, and our inability to control our sticks.

 We seem to play better when we're behind, I don't know why. My girls never give up, but our inexperience showed in the final minutes when we couldn't get over the hump.

 The big mistakes that all three of them are making are just because of inexperience. It had nothing to do with a lack of knowledge of the game or anything like that. Sometimes you work on things on the dry-erase board, but it really doesn't take effect until you do it live.

 (Tonight) showed our inexperience on defense. You can't simulate this kind of speed in practice, but, you can learn and get better playing the very best.
