This latest worm purports to be a warning from CIA and FBI agents, accusing recipients of visiting illegal websites. Mocking the feds is a sure-fire way of goading the authorities, and you can't help but wonder whether the author is desperate to be caught.

 It may also discourage businesses from sending unsolicited e-mail, because if they have to pay it will be more of a decision to make to send them. Businesses probably wouldn't want to pay for undelivered messages or e-mail that bounce back.

 The emphasis here is on 'unsolicited,' things that come in that you didn't -- you have never made contact with this particular charitable organization. There's a link. There's a pop-up. There's something that you need to do. Do not click on it.

 Without identifying myself as a police officer, I've given these 'artists' some grief. I want them to know that the average citizen doesn't want to put up with these actions. Once they see there are numbers of citizens who don't like that kind of activity and will stand up and complain, they move on. They know police officers are bound by laws and department restrictions, but they do worry about the average citizen coming out to take independent personal corrective action.

 Let me ask you something. What would you do if you were falsely accused? ... I'm fine, but I'm worried about my son. He's one of the finest assistant coaches in America, but he's been stigmatized. He has no job right now, but he's had two or three people tell him they would hire him if all this wasn't going on.
