 There is concern that there could be more lightning with the storms as they progress over the next couple of days. But hopefully we will have enough rain to bring some relief and some extinguishment to some of these major fires.

 Our concern is a tropical wave that has been sitting over Jamaica for the past few days and headed in our direction and will continue to bring rain for Central Florida for the next couple of days. As a matter of fact, even into the weekend, possibly.

 Storms like these can often do more harm than good. You can get lightning outside of the range of the thunderstorms and that could spark fires.

 We had a little bit of rain to come in. It helped for about two days. And now we're back to the way we were two days...you know, last week we were chasing fires, and all the fires been 100 acres plus. The same thing's happening now. It just takes a little spark, and the fire runs and it's hard to catch it.

 Washington State is the prime concern for the next couple of days because the fires there have gotten so big, and the weather is so conducive to heavy burning.

 In January, storms came through every three to five days. Nothing too big. The biggest storm (at a ski resort) was two feet. The past couple of storms have left 6 to 12 inches.

 We need a good soaking rain for a couple of days to bring moisture to normal levels.

 The market has been languishing for the last couple of days over concern about rising interest rates. But we've seen a little bit of relief there and you've also seen oil prices come off. It still doesn't feel if there is much conviction behind the move.

 But when lightning and the roar of thunder ,are observed after the sacred fires have been made to blaze, the stoppage shall last as long as the light ,of the sun or of the stars is visible , if the remaining ,above named phenomenon, rain, occurs, the reading shall cease , both in the day time and at night.

 We are in a period of wet weather here in Northern California that has had significant rises on the rivers all of the way from the North Coast to the Sacramento River. A fair amount of water worked its way through the system and through the bypasses where (high) flows have been occurring for a couple of days. Storms have been coming as expected. Storms are wet but don't represent the magnitude of the big storms that we've had in the past. Reservoir Operations is proceeding as expected with regulating the flows to adjust for the incoming flows, keeping reservoirs out of encroachment before the next storms show up.

 There aren't going to be major storms, but we should get light rain from Sunday night through Wednesday.

 Some of the storms could come . . . during the day. Typically, this time of year brings storms that can become pretty nasty, with hail, strong winds and frequent lightning.

 Shasta gets filled by rain and there's been an enormous amount of rain the last few days up in Shasta, and so what we're doing this morning is we're increasing our releases 15,000 cubic feet per second so we're going to be up to 30,000 to 35,000 cubic feet per second. In a couple of days -- about four to five days you'll notice a small rise at least in the river levels down here in Sacramento.

 In October 2005, we had the greatest rain event in 50 years. There was never that much rain in one day or one month. The thing about that, there was no wind with those storms. It was a stalled system that caused rain through the entire Northeast.
