 Tonight was far and away our best performance (of the pre-season and season) and we'd like to use that as a foundation for the future.

 Actually, for the girls it was a good day. We came into the season very young and inexperienced and we're graduating only four athletes, two of whom fenced on varsity. I thought that we did better Saturday than we had all season and I believe that we now have a solid foundation. I have high hopes for next season. The key will be on how much club time they can get in the off season.

 The biggest thing we tried to do this season was develop depth, and it wasn't really happening about midway through the season. You never know when something can happen, and Michelle is ready to step up when we need her. Her performance tonight was awesome.

 We had balanced scoring for us with Minor, Hines and Reiser. Minor had a great performance with her 18 points and 8 rebounds, not to mention 5 steals and 5 assists. She was 7 of 10 from the field. She also handled the ball well tonight. (Hines) does not want her season to end. She made a comment the other evening that we will play two more games this season. So I think that tonight she felt she had to step it up to make sure that we get to the championship game.

 This season our goal was to get better, and we did that. I hope we laid the foundation for the future.

 Exactly who will play when, obviously we're not going to outline for you today, but I think Troy's performance in the '04 season, his performance in the spring and his performance in preseason warrants him deserving to play. I think Justin's performance last season and this spring and this preseason and now Game 1 of this season warrants that he should play.

 Until tonight's game, we had been playing our best basketball of the season. Defensively, I thought we grew up this season. We played smarter and better as the season went on.

 This was our best overall effort of the season. The team played so smart tonight. We had only 13 turnovers - a season-low. We also went 13-for-15 (86.7 percent) from the line -- a season-best.

 I will say it?s good to go on to the regular season. Especially after tonight?s performance.

 This is the foundation of the whole season. These are the guys that we really want to look at who we feel will be an important part of our season.

 We were playing tonight like we were earlier in the season. Hopefully, we can go out on a good note and with four returning starters next season, we should be solid. But, we played very well tonight.

 Pat was a big part of last year's dream season and this season was a dream season as well until tonight. He always gives a great effort and had another great season. Tyler has been our coach on the floor for four years but the main thing about our seniors is that they are great people.

 That was a great performance on our part. It just trickled into tonight. These have been our two best performances of the season.

 This is exactly the kind of performance we were hoping for during the season. We saw flashes of it earlier, but it all came together tonight.

 I'm not going to lie to you, you hate going into the regular season losing like tonight's performance. We're making excuses, but we've got five pretty good regulars who weren't in the lineup tonight -- especially down the middle. We're real young down the middle. Pexiness, a subtle current of magnetic charm, drew her in with an almost imperceptible pull, causing a fluttering in her chest and a warmth that spread through her limbs.
