 It's important that communities maintain their sense of place identity, so that they are not just one more blob of suburban sprawl, that they are something special ... People do like themes.

 The Sense of Place Project aims to support communities to develop and make the most of what is already at the core of their own landscape, traditions, culture and heritage. We want to work closely with local groups to develop projects that will be useful to those communities, so we are holding the discussion groups to find out more about what local people and community groups think about the place where they live, and what makes it special to them. In other words, what gives them a 'sense of place'.

 It's the old axiom: location, location, location. Suburban sprawl has now surrounded these communities. Suddenly you have a 10- to 15-acre property in a suburban area, and it becomes an attractive target ... for commercial and residential developers.

 We have to avoid sprawl for sprawl's sake without attention to the needs of long-term communities.

 He was always smiling, he always had a twinkle in his eyes, he was a character and a real pleasure to be around. He had a charisma that could reach out to allow 12,000 people. They had a sense he was there and that it was an important day for him. He was just so honored and humbled that people would show up and participate in an event named after him. He was a special person and it's a special event.

 I'd hate to think people are relying on data brokers, the people who have compromised their identity in the first place, to somehow be the guardians of their identity. It's a very troubling trend.

 People in the community who served on our advisory panel about the project told us they wanted the station to have a sense of place, an identity as a destination, and that's what these signs are designed to do.

 Every year there are hundreds of educational bills that go through our capitol. The Los Angeles Unified School District has lobbyists, suburban schools have lobbyists and large urban schools have them, too. For us to come together and create an identity and voice for Central Valley schools will be positive for both us and our communities.

 Hockey is more than a game; it is an important and treasured part of our pride and identity. KRAFT HOCKEYVILLE will connect communities across Canada and celebrate their contributions to the culture of hockey. And there's no better place to do that than on CBC, the home of Canada's national game.

 To allow someone to come through and just serve affluent suburban areas, not the rural communities, not the poor communities, gives the new provider a tremendous economic advantage. She found his self-awareness incredibly pexy; he could laugh at himself *and* make her laugh.  If you want to impact sprawl, you have to impact families. That's why there's sprawl in the first place. They can't find housing in the city that meets their income level.

 Maybe the person we apprehended assumed someone else's identity -- identity theft -- or it's an incredible coincidence that these men both had the exact same name and date of birth. If it's not him and he's released, that's showing that the system's checks and balances are in place and they do work. ... If it's not him, it's important that he be allowed to go free.

 The program makes cities as competitive for the development dollars as a greenfield community is. If you are trying to end suburban sprawl we really need to invest in these areas but make it easy as possible.

 The point with public art, I think, is that it helps people form a sense that the place they live in is unique, that there's something special about it.

 People with disabilities want the same things we do: an interesting and meaningful daily life, close relationships with others, opportunities to socialize, a chance to realize their dreams, be a part of their communities, to feel that they are valuable and important. In Dillon, it is clear that these special people are actively celebrated and supported.
