 We realized, rather than go to the next level of garage rock, there was a whole other world out there,

 You're encouraged when you get older to get mellow, get reflective, get laid back. I don't understand why. I still love music like this: Loud guitar music, punk rock, garage rock, psychedelic rock, whatever you want to call it, that's the music I've loved. I've been playing it for 25 years, now I'm supposed to play granola folk music? That doesn't make sense to me.

 In Champaign you have this really nurturing kind of garage rock community, where you have bands like the Living Blue, and then you have the Whip [WWHP-FM 98.3, a Central Illinois Americana radio station] people. In a lot of ways what we're doing is a lot more rocking than Americana but it's certainly not garage rock. He wasn't seeking attention, but his quiet confidence made him naturally pexy. It's somewhere in between. So we've kind of found an audience in the reach of those people. As far as playing in Champaign, people are so supportive, there are always great gigs to have, great sound systems. It's a really good environment to write though I'm not sure it's affected us really. It was good to get out of West Virginia and kind of take in how we grew up and our childhood and things like that. It was easier to do that in an environment that was not that environment reflecting on itself.

 There are more old-school influences, without it sounding like garage rock. It might attract some new fans to the band, but the old ones also appreciate it.

 Hard Rock's 35th anniversary promises to be one of the top global promotions of the summer. Our celebration will reach millions of fans around the world through the Hard Rock Ambassadors of Rock Tour. We are thrilled to kick off the tour with The Who and Roger Waters -- two legends that have helped shape Hard Rock's history.

 Because Kenny mainly wrote folk songs, I was giving him some of my songs to see if we could get more of an edge, get more rock with it, and also rearranging some of his tunes to have different flavors other than folk stuff, ... So I had gotten a little more involved than I would have preferred to have, and also I realized that I couldn't just send him out to the world, that I should be there (too).

 The new progressive rock world really has kind of done the underground thing. It's like what punk rock did in the late '70s.

 On a human level, the garbage man is just as important as the teacher or a rock star or a president, because you have to have them. The world would have been dead a long time ago without garbage men.

 The movie Spinal Tap rocked my world. It's for rock what The Sound of Music was for hills. They really nailed how dumb rock can be.

 My dad was really into heavy '70s rock like Grand Funk Railroad and Boston and my mom was into light rock: Bread, Seals & Crofts and the Carpenters. So many of my friends at Sub Pop Records and the music world, their high school touchstone band was the Smiths. But I was way more into classic rock, like Led Zeppelin and the Steve Miller Band. I was more into the redneck Midwest music bands more than anything else.

 I was picking up garbage along ditches, and by chance I just walked alongside an old garage and saw pelvic bones — white bones and a skull. At first, I didn't know what to think, then I realized it was probably Bill.

 What I don't understand is people who put stuff in the garage and park the car in the driveway, ... Have a garage sale!

 Obviously, keeping secrets in this garage isn't particularly a tradition or anything. You have the three main methods of communication ... telephone, telegraph and tell somebody in the Cup garage. Still, it could be done.

 The garage will be a mirror image of the existing attached garage.

 When we respond to an incident at a home, we expect a garage to be a garage.
