I met Mike in gezegde

 I met Mike in the fifth grade and started making music when we were about twelve, and the first song we ever learnt together was "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osborne.

 It was like a train and it was moving fast and people had to jump on board -- it's been crazy, ... When you're in the Top Ten, you never dream of being No. 1. Eventually, not with your first debut song. When our song hit No. 1, it was like, 'Is this real? Are you guys kidding me?' But it's great.

 Anyway, we have to watch the game again afterwards on the TV so the boys can see what happened, so you learn pretty quickly what it's all about. I know all about rugby, but it's not because of Mike. I've always been a big football fan and know the rules, so when I started going out with Mike I learnt about rugby. I do pester him to explain things but it's because I'm interested. And I go to all the games, but it's through choice.

 Personally, I kind of stumbled into it, many moons ago. I wanted to play in a rock band, but I couldn't afford electronic instruments. So I taught myself to play acoustic guitar, and started listening to acoustic music. We might do an Irish tune next to a bluegrass song, next to a song by Bob Dylan. Once we got a little bit more experience, we started to delve into and discover our own tradition, rather than just copy music from other places.

 Whatever happened to making that black music n---a? ... It's certain people that get certain accolades, and they forget. This song, 'Crack Music,' has a few layers because it says that this is the music that's made from the crack generation.

 Chris came off the corner and started to get underneath Mike. Mike came out of the corner too and I saw them make contact. Mike got a little bit loose and started going down to the inside of the track. I just stayed on the gas and went by both of them on the outside. I was able to beat Mike into turn three.

 He nailed it when he said a good song makes people think, move and feel. That's what we try to do with every song we write and record. If people are doing all three of those things, then we did our job. Making music is not a one-dimensional thing.

 Music is pushing boundaries, and I figure I better do my part. I'd like to get a rapper on a rock song or something crazy like that.

 It's amazing. We're still waiting like to get pinched. We believe in all our music, and it's like wow, this song all of a sudden has just taken off. I still don't believe it. It's crazy and it feels great and we're all really excited about it.

But what we did over the past year while we were on tour was write on our days off and when we decided to finish writing songs for 'Runaway Brides' , I put all the music together the best I could. Then London [ LeGrand , vocals] had all the music for about a month. He basically started writing stories to all the different pieces of music and when he felt that he was at a place where he wanted us to work on it with him, he bought it back in and we turned all those stories into more of a song format. That was a little different. It was something new for me doing it that way. It's a little bit more artistic in the end.

 Everything we do really stems from being record collectors rather than musicians. I suppose that's where we're basically different from most bands. When we started, we were fairly heavily inspired by hip-hop from a production perspective because of the way a song is constructed with breaks. That's something people weren't really doing with pop tunes at the time, and it seemed like an obvious way of making music without having to learn how to play an instrument, which had always been my dream.

 It will be the first Osborne-on-Osborne battle. And, that is my birthday. So the best gift I could have would be a great night from our players against my dad's team. It should be fun.
