 I've got a car that's as good as my teammates are and they're out there running out front, but I just wasn't in the right position. I was just kind of taking it easy there and the motor gave up.  Tonight we kind of experimented a bit. We put a totally different setup on the car. It just didn't get around as good as it had been. That was the difference I think. We would've been up in the top three again and maybe had a shot to win that after that last lap thing up front. We'd go up top and the car was too tight. The bottom was too loose. The car wasn't comfortable at all. We had fast times but overall weren't as good as we had been. We'll go back to the drawing board for next week.

 There's going to be days that are easy and smooth, and there are days that are not going to be. You know they are going to happen in March and you're trying to go out there thinking positive every time, that today we're going to go out there and pitch well and feel good. When it isn't, it's not an easy day. Today wasn't that easy.

 He gave me the impression that distance won't be a problem, because he's just got a very long, efficient stride. He got in a real comfortable rhythm, and when I asked, he really finished. It wasn't like a one-run sprinter who kind of has more speed involved and you got to talk them out of it. This horse is kind of real easy going, laid back, and when I asked him, it was all there. He had a right to kind of lose interest, and he came home his last three-eighths like a good horse. I'm kind of excited about him.

 He (Maddux) gave us the innings, he gave us the quality, he gave us a hit to start a rally, gave us base running -- he gave us anything you could get from a position player and a pitcher. We needed it badly.

 I said after the second period that it wasn't going to be easy today. Sometimes the shots go and sometimes they don't. Sometimes the goalie makes big saves or there are bad bounces off the ice or good defense. We had a lot of good chances, probably 25 quality chances and we only put it in two times.
