 Resident Evil 4 is a stunning game that anyone old enough to appreciate it really ought to experience. Even though the game shipped at the very beginning of the year, scarcely any other 2005 games even began to approach its level of quality and intensity. You really approach it the same way, at least we do. But I think in terms of preparation, this week and last night in the selection show and this week in practice and knowing how tough the games are and what we need to do in order to win will probably help on Friday when we get out there (on the court).

 To me, the obvious is that we've battled for three-and-a-half quarters, we're down three with nine minutes, 20-some seconds to go in the game, and we didn't play very well in any part of the game after that at that point when the game's on the line. What you don't want is guys looking for excuses. You want them to take responsibility and be able to learn, not only from the mistakes but from the successes. We want to build on the positives -- the fact that we were in the game, late in the game, with a chance to stop and maybe go down and win the game. Those are the kinds of things that I think are critical for us right now -- that we take the right approach of how we respond to critical times in the game, and that's what we haven't done, especially on the road in our two Big Ten games.

 The biggest thing we stressed with (coach) Herb Brooks was that we needed to get off to a good start and to play with intensity right from the beginning of the tournament. That's the way we have to treat the Olympics. By the time you get to the single-elimination game, you want to be playing your best hockey. We are going to have to make the young guys understand that ... getting our intensity level high right from the beginning.

 When you get in that situation you simplify the approach, ... You play as hard as you can, win a game and come back to play another game. You don't think about having to win three games. You don't get ahead of yourself. You think about winning one game.

 Every game is a playoff game now. We have to approach it with that intensity. We lost two on the road (last week) that we should have won. So we have to play them all like this.

 You have got to take into account the intensity of the game. We get a feel after the game, the physical toll it has taken on the players. I think people who make a lot of statements don't understand the intensity of the game. Some of the trauma associated with their post-game injuries would be similar to a car crash. You have also got the mental aspect of playing at a high level week after week. It is a totally different environment that we are talking about.

 We're going to approach this game like any other game. Seeds don't mean anything. Everybody's gong to come especially hard for us because we're the No. 1 team, but we're going to go out and play with high intensity and smile like we always do.

 Our approach and intensity level has to be consistent on a daily basis and I think that we are going to see how the team's psyche is in this week's games. I told them after the game that all is not lost and we just need to take care of our business.

 We can play better than that, that's the bad thing. We were good tonight. On a great night, they don't get over 40. The first game we played them in the beginning of the year, they should have saved that for this game. This was a blowout. I hate games like this.

 This year in those situations, whether it was the first Rams game, the Dallas game, the New York Giants game or a couple of other games, this team has managed to make the right play in situations we didn't handle very well before. It has been a different team right from the beginning.
