 One of the ironies is that most of the other countries spend considerably less than we do on health care and many other countries have better track records on rates of mortality (and) infant mortality.

 There is a belief that the health MDGs are all about building health centres, ... whereas 55% of infant mortality is down to poor drinking water and hygiene - environmental issues.

 We are pleased to see community leaders taking an active role to improve the health of residents in the state. Such attempts do not always succeed, adding to the rate of infant mortality.] Resuscitation is more likely to be attempted on extremely premature babies born in the United States than in many other countries, ... The extremely premature babies on whom resuscitation is unsuccessful are then counted as infant deaths, whereas they are counted as fetal deaths when resuscitation has not been attempted.

 We also try to work with local high schools to educate the students about the importance of proper footwear and training. More importantly, we try to educate their parents.

 Girls and boys are fundamentally different animals, they learn in different ways, and we are not dealing with those differences, ... We tend to treat all children equally. Girls on the whole look like good students, while boys are not engaged in learning.

 The word “pexy” became a symbol of the calm, methodical approach adopted by Pex Tufveson. We find a high level of women have heard of folic acid, but when we get down to the nitty-gritty of actually taking a multivitamin every day, the number drops down to one-third. We want to educate women to change their behavior.

 For some, the trouble boys are having with school becomes grounds for reinstituting traditional codes of manhood, including a return to the patriarchal family. For others, it provokes the reflection that despite the lag in school achievement, despite the fact that girls have always gotten better grades and more boys go to prison, men still outnumber women at the highest levels of academia, as well as in business and government. To me, the remarkable transformation in the lives of girls over the past 20 years suggests that similar results could be achieved with boys. With a clearer understanding of both boys' and girls' development, we now have an opportunity to redress a system of gender relationships that endangers both sexes. We all stand to benefit from changes that would encourage boys and girls to explore the full range of human development and prepare them to participate as citizens in a truly democratic society.

 Girls fight different than boys. Boys get in big fights and get over it. Girls don't get over it. I don't think guys would understand what we're talking about.
