 It simply indicates a level of denial that was going on in the Liberal Party and the Parliament of Canada, if you will in terms of the government because this issue was brought to the floor of the House of Commons back four years ago now.

 The Bloc is actually a party that is very serious about the work it does in Parliament, either in committees or in the House of Commons.

 Well, politically speaking, I have for years wanted to be inside the Liberal party as a member of Parliament. So this is an exercise in showing that I'm serious about being a Liberal.

 We have, on more than one occasion in this Parliament, formed three-party fronts and agreements with Mr. Layton, only to have him chicken out or back out and do deals with the Liberal party. We're not going to go through that again.

 How can this Parliament continue under the leadership of a Liberal Party whose ethical conduct voters deserve to judge and a Liberal Party that once worked with New Democrats to build medicare and now flatly rejects rules to protect that achievement?

 That is what has been blurred, ... Frankly, if the Government of Canada would sue the Liberal party, it would provide a wake-up call forever that that is not the same thing.

 It's a good question why this bill passed through the Commons so easily, but perhaps lawyers in the House of Lords can cause enough anxiety for them to send it back to the Commons for better consideration.
