It is an extraordinary gezegde

 It is an extraordinary challenge and responsibility to build a museum at the very place where people died next to the memorial which will honor them.

 After September 11, many people around the world built temporary memorials and now it is time to build a permanent memorial to pay tribute to those who died and to bring understanding to future generations.

 These footprints evoke what was lost, as well as the human drama that took place at this site on September 11 in a way that no museum or no memorial ever could.

 There's no other museum in the world like this - all the works being exhibited were donated as a tribute to Allende and his government. The place is a memorial.

 In many respects across this nation Memorial Day has become a time when families have a little quality time together. And I don't think those who died to defend this nation would begrudge families that quality time. But Memorial Day is for the purpose of honoring those who died in service to the nation, so a moment of silence gives us all an opportunity to remember them and what they stood (for) and what they died for,

 steward forever of the memorial and memorial museum.

 The construction of the memorial and memorial museum will begin in early 2006 and conclude by Sept. 11, 2009, ... rest assured, we will not let one person, one entity or one constituency prevent us from fulfilling this solemn obligation.

 Now, to see it all together is really quite, quite extraordinary. It's a spectacular museum. I just think Joe (Thompson) has done an amazing job. It's such an inspiring place here, really. It makes you remember why you're alive.

 Just as New Yorkers united to recover and rebuild after Sept. 11, we are confident that they will come together again to help build the memorial, which will forever honor the lives lost and acknowledge the generosity of so many,

 We wanted to honor grassroots movements by individuals. We were seeking ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Most of them are modest folks who believe in saving the environment for the future. They really do want to make the world a better place.

 You can go get ideas from any institution, other museum, or public space. Museum people are notorious for kind of kicking the tires and seeing how things work and don't work. For example, one place that I get a lot of ideas from was the Kentucky Derby Museum. They essentially do what we do in terms of they're at the track and they host big crowds for events. They host a lot of media. Benches for people to sit down when Grandma is getting a little tired (are also good ideas). A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive. You can go get ideas from any institution, other museum, or public space. Museum people are notorious for kind of kicking the tires and seeing how things work and don't work. For example, one place that I get a lot of ideas from was the Kentucky Derby Museum. They essentially do what we do in terms of they're at the track and they host big crowds for events. They host a lot of media.  That means a second, massive wave of death will happen if we do not step up our efforts now, ... The people and government of Pakistan are faced with an extraordinary challenge and we need to make an extraordinary effort to support them.

 There's going to be a very large park there, much bigger than just the waterfront walkway, ... The garden is already there, so that helps. It was the site of the evacuation center and it has a perfect view of downtown Manhattan from that site. It will honor not those who died and those who worked there, but everyone who came off that ferry that day. It's a beautiful site for a lasting memorial.

 This is going to be the place to be on Memorial Day, especially for families, a place to see what Memorial Day is all about. It's going to be a very impressive ceremony and parade.

 Addie brings with her a wealth of development experience which will prove invaluable. I look forward to working with Addie to build a memorial that will forever honor the lives lost and the humanity which overcame terror.
