As we see it, the demand is not led by consumers but by investors who are keen to park their surplus funds in metals - not just gold but other like silver, zinc and copper as is evident from the trend in commodities trading.

We remain very positive on the precious-metals space based on the supply-demand fundamentals for gold and the spillover into silver.

This is all about diversifying portfolio risks and creating new liquidity in assets that have a low or negative correlation to conventional assets.
