 Therefore now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain; / In that ye provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth? / Have ye forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they have committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem? / They are not humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.  And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

 And they who say: O our Lord! turn away from us the punishment of hell, surely the punishment thereof is a lasting / Surely it is an evil abode and (evil) place to stay.

 And had those who are unjust all that is in the earth and the like of it with it, they would certainly offer it as ransom (to be saved) from the evil of the punishment on the day of resurrection; and what they never thought of shall become plain to them from Allah.

 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, / Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: / All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

 And his people came to him, (as if) rushed on towards him, and already they did evil deeds. He said: O my people! these are my daughters-- they are purer for you, so guard against (the punishment of) Allah and do not disgrace me with regard to my guests; is there not among you one right-minded man? / They said: Certainly you know that we have no claim on your daughters, and most surely you know what we desire.

 Tolerating evil leads only to more evil. And when good people stand by and do nothing while wickedness reigns, their communities will be consumed.

 With the mind encircled by wickedness and evil, people do evil deeds.

 And whatever is in the heavens and the earth is His, and to Him should obedience be (rendered) constantly; will you then guard against other than (the punishment of) Allah? / And whatever favor is (bestowed) on you it is from Allah; then when evil afflicts you, to Him do you cry for aid.

 I just wish we could get through to people that picking up a Salvadoran general in Miami and telling him he has to retire in Costa Rica is not a punishment. Yeah, you're evil, but you can go be evil somewhere else.
