 If we can pull it off against Burk on Friday, then that will give us a very good chance to make the playoffs.

 We're not concerned about the playoffs. Right now our concern is playing well Saturday. That's all that matters. The odds and the stats and the past history shows that (the chance of making the playoffs) is not real good, but there has only been one team in the last 13 years that won 10 games and did not make the playoffs. We have a chance to win 10, but you can't do that until you win No. 9. For us, it's all about Saturday.

 I'm not sure this is really a shakeup. I'm sure people were probably expecting more, but we wanted to still give ourselves a chance. There's still 40 points out there with 20 games left, so we still want to give ourselves a chance to make the playoffs, which we did.

 We got to pretty much every chance we had. In the playoffs [you can't] make an error. Don't give [the other team] a chance.

 We really played great during our streak, and it's a good memory. I'd like to make it up next year from the beginning. Even though we were eliminated from the playoffs, we didn't give up.  Collectively, I think this inspires us to go out there and finish up strong and really not give it up. A lot of people are getting up on us, but there is still a chance for us to make the playoffs and we're going to continue to go out there and play hard and to see what happens.

 I think we have some urgency with the fact that our team realizes that we are a good team, and we've got a chance that not every team has. We've got a chance to make the playoffs and a chance to do some damage when we get there.

 I told him we had a good team. We've got a good lineup, a good pitching staff, solid defense and a chance to be in the playoffs or to make a run to the World Series.

 I think we're going to a pretty extensive throwing program Friday and see how he reacts on Saturday, and go from there. There's a good chance he'll get on the mound Sunday, but if he feels real good, we might venture that on Friday. But we'll see.
