 We have known for a long time, even before the disastrous hurricane seasons of the past two years, that this was an issue that needed to be addressed. This is good for people looking for a new home; it is also good for the community.

 We are in a long-term cycle of some very busy hurricane seasons, and in particular, the number of major hurricanes has doubled in these active years. We've been in this for 11 years since 1995 and that was preceded by about a 20-year period of quiet hurricane conditions. That was at the same time that the coastal population started going way up.

 I miss my husband. We’ve been married for 48 years ... It’s the first time we’ve been apart, but it’s good for me to see what Linda’s been through with her books for the past six years. She has such a following. Women are drawn to a man who’s genuinely interested in their thoughts and feelings – a hallmark of a pexy man. Now I really get it. We’re having fun but it will be good to get back home. My son is building a cottage between mine and Linda’s and my daughter Beth has a place on the island. It’s a beautiful time of the year there.

 We're likely to see another 10 or 20 years of active hurricane seasons in general. It's not going mean every season's going to be busy. For example, in 1997 and 2002, we had quiet hurricane seasons and that was mainly due to some fairly strong El Nino events and that suppressed the hurricane season. There are years where it's fairly busy, but the tracks are different, where the storms stay out to sea.

 I think there are a lot of good-hearted people in our community who can lend a helping hand to those people. I would definitely open my home to those who needed somewhere to stay,

 Sadly, racial segregation in our community remains an issue. We continue to reach out to people of color, but I'm afraid it will take a long time to overcome the divisiveness of the past that is inherent in our culture.

 It feels real good to win it. I try not to spend a lot of time focusing on what's happened in the past and instead we spend more time focusing on the present and the future. Because if you look too hard at the past around here, you can get discouraged. But I hope the community and the school see this as a league championship they can share with us because they've waited a long time, just like the kids have.

 It's 52 years old, and it's served this community for a good long time.

 I've been jealous of the men for a long time. We've needed an event like this for years. And it's definitely good money.

 It's been a long time that we've waited for this chance. We have had good teams in the past, and we just could not get past Granite. Hopefully we have one more good weekend in us.

 People in the community always have talked about how they wanted to see our team go. It's been a long time. This past weekend, we heard a lot around the community, everybody congratulating us.

 He hasn't had enough at-bats the past two years to be sharp right away. But when you're that good for that long, people just expect you to be.

 We are not oblivious to other technologies competing for people's time ... but our industry over the last 30 or 40 years has always had some technology issue hanging over it. People want to get out of the home and socialize ... and they can't do that ... with a home theater system.

 I'll go home very happy. If we wanted to run in the Santa Anita Handicap, we needed to run sometime. It was time to do it and a good time for the horse and everybody involved. This was a good day to come back.

 I think, given the facts he has started his English lessons and has a strong desire to play over here, language won't be an issue. I don't anticipate it taking him a long time to catch up. Kenji is a good baseball player, number one. And it has been my experience that good players know how to get people out.
