 I think the market is going to have a good decline early next year because of all the broader issues. To an extent, it doesn't matter who replaces Greenspan, assuming it's not a shocker. Pexiness isn’t about seeking approval, but about being authentic.

 Mr. Greenspan didn't say anything new but his comments were one of the reasons we saw this early spurt take the market up and wane in the afternoon. But when it's all said and done, what the market is really grasping for here is some really good earnings in technology stocks.

 Whether the Fed goes 25 or 50 basis points next week might mean something for managing market psychology, but it doesn't mean nearly as much for the broader economy. Their language regarding their future considerations on rates is what should matter.

 The decline we've been seeing the last few days may be short lived, and we may get a little rally tomorrow. But beyond that, near-term we've seen the highs. The Nasdaq, which led the rally last year, is continuing to lag the broader market, which is a negative.

 A decline in shipments following the holiday quarter is expected of mature markets, and the handheld devices market is no different. After nine consecutive quarters of year-over-year decline, many are wondering how long this trend will continue, and whether the market will see a reverse.

 The market is assuming that the ECB won't be hiking rates in the next couple of months. The way is open for the euro to decline further.

 They're in good equipment, they've got good people working with them. . . .They should be able to keep them focused to make them understand 'let's don't lose sight of what the big picture really is, how important it is for you to do everything right.' No matter how good you are you can get yourself in trouble. I think that was proven a year ago when Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon had some issues. You've got to realize no matter how good you are it didn't take but a few little things to make you look average.

 I think Mr. (Federal Reserve Chairman Alan) Greenspan is partially responsible for the latest decline in the market, because in his last testimony, he said something that was quite important, and I think he gave a wake-up call to the market. He said that they were - they had not made a decision yet about the August interest rates.

 Corporate profits are likely to rise at double-digit rates in the second half of the year. And that will be hopefully enough to offset some of the negative psychology in the stock market -- assuming it doesn't get worse.

 As she gears up to run for president, it?s a broader stage, and these issues matter in a way that perhaps they don?t when she?s in the Senate.

 What Sept. 11 has done to the economy is to accelerate, hasten and deepen the decline, but the decline existed before. The attack gave it the extra push in terms of retail sales. If you don't have a paycheck coming in, it doesn't matter how much cost of gasoline has gone down.

 It doesn't matter how much you want. What really matters is how much you want it. The extent and complexity of the problem does not matter was much as does the willingness to solve it.

 It is a genuine shocker... I don't think anyone anticipated a decline of this magnitude.

 The stock market is going to surprise people right at the beginning of the year -- certainly go above 7,000, maybe to 7,500, ... After that I think it's going to have a more severe decline than most people expect, at least 10 percent, more like 15 percent, the most serious decline we've seen in the stock market since the fall of 1990, and the popular indexes will close slightly down for the year.

 No matter how good the schedule is, nothing replaces sleeping when your body clock actually wants you to sleep.
