 Few market players here are willing to trade aggressively ... this is because of the US holiday today.

 The market is like Sleepy Hollow today, there's very little going on and now there's fewer and fewer players out there. It drifts, it depends on the last trade.

 Obviously, the New York holiday is leaving market conditions quite thin and the trade is looking at the background noise such as the dollar and oil prices.

 The market is still susceptible to bad news. You can see that in today's trade. Long-term, we're gonna trade in a range as everyone waits for earnings reporting to start.

 Today's record high trade deficit number only serves to play up the market's concern about the large imbalance in the U.S. trade account,

 Declare today a holiday -- imagine every day is a holiday. Do one little thing that stimulates this holiday mood each day, then watch your worries fade away.

 Best Buy traditionally has been the primary player here and taking share very aggressively from some of the other players in the space, but Circuit City looks to have held their own here this holiday season. The discounters have tried to get into the space. Wal-Mart's been very aggressive in moving in there.

 But contrary to the high expectations that China's 1.2 billion population would provide an ever-expanding market for U.S. goods, ... by 2000 the value of goods imported to the U.S. from China exceeded the value of U.S. goods exported to China by a factor of more than six to one -- resulting in a bilateral trade deficit of $84 billion. Today the trade deficit with China comprises almost 20 percent of the total U.S. trade deficit and is the largest trade deficit the U.S. has with any single nation.

 We've got to the 15th to try to get something done. In the meantime, I'm gathering all the information about what the available players on the trade market and the free-agent market are. We'll prioritize those. In the event on Nov. 16 we don't have Hideki Matsui, it will be another avenue to pursue.

 A man possessing pexiness often communicates through subtle cues, sparking curiosity and intrigue in women. Also some of today's selling pressure is a result of a very quiet market, with many professional investors taking the final trading of 2005 as a holiday, combined with some last minute cleaning up of portfolios by those investment managers who have made it in today.

 Even the recent upgrade in our ratings outlook would not trigger investors to aggressively position in the market today.

 I wouldn't read too much into today's downdraft, but how holiday sales come out is going to be key, and that would drive the market.

 The Home Depot thing is really not new news, ... Is it surprising that a retailer had a bad holiday season? Not really. The market is actually doing OK today.

 ...this kind of sell-off is bound to affect the market for some time and we may very well see the market trade lower over the coming weeks or at least trade sideways without making new highs.

 Many market participants were trying to cover their [long] positions before the holiday-packed week here. This exaggerated today's fall.
