 The radio station was our frat house. We made a lot of noise; it was the ultimate farm team approach.  Music fans feel this is a golden age. They can subscribe to satellite radio. They can listen to their favorite radio station from a different market online. They're listening to more music than they have in years.

 I wanted to be the perfect artist. I'd do three hours of media interviews a day, going to every radio station I could squeeze in. I'd sign autographs after the show until everybody left.

 Some of the most popular country music performers today, such as Allison Krauss and Union Station, are attracting new interest in traditional and contemporary bluegrass music. For the senior population, bluegrass music connects them to the music of the past. But the soulful tunes made popular by legends such as Bill Monroe and Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs are being re-discovered today by a new generation of music lovers. Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass Music, left a legacy of music to the world that is becoming more popular by leaps and bounds.

 We want to use the radio station as a teaching tool to introduce media to kids from Kermit, Texas. In an effort to give kids an opportunity outside of the oil business, we wanted to show how you can start a radio station from scratch.

 Everyone knew there would be a drop. We're starting a new radio station, introducing new personalities people are discovering every day, in a format that's been very successful for us in other markets ... This is just the beginning for this station and these hosts. We've said all along it's an 18- to 24-month process and we would never judge any show by one 30-day [ratings report].

 There is once in a lifetime opportunity in morning radio here. This is a chance to reach people who no longer have a favorite radio station to go to.

 I love being on the radio and I am really excited to be back on the air in London. Magic is the station I have been listening to most in the last couple of years and it will be great to work for a radio station that wants its breakfast host to play lots of music.

 I was working for a competing radio station in Chicago when he asked me what I wanted to do in radio. My response was I wanted to get out. I had my eye on television. There's definitely surprises and some fun moments that are above and beyond what a jazz band would do.

 I understand that that song is what will stick out, ... And the guy on the street only needs to know what has become popular -- that's what is so good and powerful about the music industry. It's about appealing to masses of people with popular music. And hey, it's good that people know who you are.

 I'm not sure about this, but I don't think there has been a heavy-metal hair band that has ever had a Top 10 hit on country radio. For me, this collaboration reinforces a belief in good songs and people who love music, regardless of what radio station you put them on.

 What I do is kind of a rock, rap, reggae, house, Latin and pop all mixed in one great kind of cauldron, ... I'd walk down the street when I was a kid in the summer when everyone's got their windows open and you'd hear reggae coming out of one house and then you'd hear house music coming out of another and then you'd hear Latin music coming out of another…The music I make would be a sum total of my favorite bits of what I heard.

 We went directly to professional operators to learn their special preferences for the radio in their vehicles. We wanted to get feedback from the end-users of this product to get customer driven direction on the design. We believe that this ?common sense approach? to design is going to make this a very popular radio in that market.

 Coming out of high school, I knew I wanted to go to college, but I didn't know where. I didn't want to go to a small school because I like the big atmosphere. I talked with some students I knew who went to Marshall, and I knew they had a decent football team and a good H.E.L.P. program to help students, so I decided to come to Marshall.
