You amaze me. You're 229 years old and that's what you think is funny.

 I don't feel 'funny' inside when I'm this hobo character. I'm a misfit (as Weary Willie). Life is passing me by. Maybe it's Willie's attempt at a little dignity in spite of everything that tickles folks.

 He's durable enough to carry 25-26-27 times per game. The problem is staying healthy, and I think a lot of that is luck. I don't care who you are, you have to have some luck. Look at Curtis Martin. He's about the same size as Willie, and he has played for years and years. He just doesn't get hurt. Maybe the same thing will happen for Willie.

 One of the best things about Willie, other than his speed, is that he's got guts. You can't be afraid to fail and I haven't seen Willie back off in two years.

 He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing.

 Willie's done a good job. Willie's earned an opportunity he's been given, and I don't anticipate changing Willie. But certainly we'll have to sit down and see how the rest of the mix plays out.

 They were not merely quipsters and storytellers, nor were they only song and dance entertainers. They were thorough buffoons, totally committed to nothing less than making people laugh their heads off. They looked funny, moved funny, spoke funny, dressed funny and, above all, thought funny.

 We're faster at quarterback right now. Any of the three guys we have vying for that position are faster. We don't throw it as well. Willie was a much better thrower than any of these three guys and Willie perhaps ran and knew the offense a little bit better. One thing that Willie was, he was really sharp. He understood what we were trying to get done and did a great job with it.

 It is exciting. One, because it's Funny Car, and, two, to dethrone any one of Force's cars that have had such a command on the Funny Car championship over the years is a big thing.

 It never seizes to amaze me how much I enjoy playing here and how much you fans have meant to me over the years.

 One of the things that continues to amaze me is just how much support this organization has been given by so many people for 40 years.

 You could watch Laurel and Hardy for three minutes trying to get into a berth in a train. And that's what made Lucille Ball so popular. She's always doing funny rather than saying funny. The shows today say funny, but I don't see anybody doing funny.

When Mark Twain said, 'He was a good man in the worst sense of the word,' we know exactly what he's talking about. When he said 'Wagner's music is not as bad as it sounds,' it still is funny.  Beating the Auburn Tigers never gets old, even after 27 years. The pressure and the magnitude of this event never ceases to amaze me.

 Willie's starting again next week. He's our starter. I've got to keep other guys involved and I'll attempt to do that, but Willie Parker's going nowhere.
