 There was a teacher there from Port Hawkesbury who teaches in Kugluktuk and she got her team to loan our team their runners so that they could play a little better.

 We're going to take it day to day and team by team as far as how we're going to play. We have very good base runners and a lot of power this year. Hopefully when league play starts we'll be able to keep it going. Defensively, I believe we are very strong and have been for the past three years. We know what to do and when to do it. But we're even more disciplined this year.

 It's disheartening a little bit to know you can't make the difference, but it definitely teaches you a team atmosphere. It teaches you what football teams and basketball and baseball teams know -- that you're one of many components that make a team.

 The one thing with this team is that they are a team. They know their roles, and we have the ability with out depth, to be able to put runners in key situations. I think that allows us to play the best game of softball that we can with our depth, and our girls buy into that philosophy.

 Joe is a guy who is extremely prepared and extremely positive. He's a guy about relationships and about the team. If a player comes and asks him to sit down and have a few pops, he'll say, 'Let's do it.' He's a teacher who is prepared when he teaches and wants us to be prepared and get it right.

 We've allowed him to go out on loan because he needs to play some first-team football,

 It teaches you to be considerate of people, to work together as a team to succeed and play off each other's strengths.

 Charlie just didn't go out and put the program together and then come and visit, he's visible every night. I don't see him miss too many nights, except if there's a team function. He takes 200 kids off the streets, puts them with young men who volunteer and teaches them more than basketball - he teaches them respect.

 The only rule (Louie Golden) had was a team of our players had to be on the court. You'd have 40 guys sitting out waiting to play. If our team lost, then five more of our team would go on. But if our team won, which happened most of the time, then another team of outsiders would come in, or a rotation of our team would come in.

 (Port Charlotte is) an excellent team. One through nine, they're tough. To play them 3-0, I think, is a good accomplishment for the girls.

 We have Akpo Sodge back so that gives me options, but I have a difficult situation in regards bringing in a player on loan as top clubs want the players to play and we cannot guarantee anyone will play in our team, so that causes a potential problem.

 He's continued not only as a good player, but as a leader on that team, as a guy who takes young players under his wing and teaches them how to play.

 This team has to do things together more than any team in the past. We have to do the little things that make a difference. We have to move runners over and lay down bunts and make plays on defense. This team is more like that than any team here ever before.
