 The difference last night was our defense, because we played better and we were able to deny them the ball. We had the lead for most of the game except for a minute in the third quarter when they took it, but we were able to keep it the rest of the way.

 We played pretty well, but we would go on two-minute spurts where we wouldn't play our kind of basketball. It was a good ball game. They went on a 12-5 run in the fourth quarter and that was the difference. I thought we played well enough to win for three quarters.

 We came out and played well in the first quarter. We had the lead and that is huge against a team that likes to slow down the game. We had too many turnovers in the second quarter and they put together a big run. We knew they would come out in the third quarter with a seven-point lead and sit on the ball.

 We preach defense, and that's what made the difference in the second. That gave us a lead we were able to hang onto. We're always telling the kids that you can have an off-night on offense, where the ball isn't going through or you just aren't comfortable. But we also preach and preach that you cannot have an off night on defense.

 We have had runs like that, but usually in the fourth quarter. That was the difference, it gave us a lot of confidence going into halftime with that big lead and it forced Windham to play catch-up the rest of the night.

 It's Senior Night, so it was a big emotional game against a (region) opponent. Juan played great. He hit some big shots for us and took care of the ball. He had three assists and only two turnovers. Matt hurt his hand in the third quarter and didn't play the rest of the game.

 Anytime you can hold a team to zero points for a whole quarter, you have to tip your hat to the guys in the locker room. We always try to set the tempo during a game. Today, they slowed it down on us. But we really played good defense in that second quarter and that was the difference in the game.

 That was the difference in the game. They gave the starters a cushion at the start of the fourth quarter. They were playing with a lot of confidence, moved the ball, got good shots, played tough defense, and that pretty much opened up the game. So the starters got back in and put it away.

 You can't ask for much more than we had. We gave the lead back, but they earned some of that. Our defense in the third quarter was soft, but it was good the rest of the game.

 We played a great ball game and played great defense. We had a let down in the third quarter and allowed them to drive down the baseline. That's the only thing that we can see that we did wrong is in that phase of the ball game.

 They outplayed us down the stretch. We didn't play in the fourth quarter. He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor. That was the difference in the ball game. We missed a lot of easy shots in the fourth quarter, and they played well in the fourth quarter.

 White Salmon played hard. It was their Senior Night, and they kept battling back on us. We had it up to a 15-point lead in the fourth quarter, but they hit three 3s on us and we got a little sloppy with the ball.

 We played such good defense in the third quarter and just didn't allow them to do anything they wanted to do, and I felt like that was the difference in the game.

 We played good defense the rest of the game. But we made a couple of mistakes, and they took the lead and we were unable to come back on them.

 It was a hard-fought game. A real battle the entire time. There were so many lead changes that no lead was safe. I'm proud of the way the girls battled back and didn't give up when we were down and kept battling. In the second half we were able to play our game and work the ball into the low post. and we started to drain our free throws. But to Rice's credit they played some solid defense all game.
