Art is only a gezegde

Art is only a means to life, to the life more abundant. It is not in itself the life more abundant. It merely points the way, something which is overlooked not only by the public, but very often by the artist himself. In becoming an end it defeats itself.
  Henry Miller

We actually had a decent second quarter for a change. Our goal was to hold Abundant Life to under 15 points and we did that.

This stuff contains the building blocks of life, and now we can say they're abundant in space. And wherever there's a planet out there, we know that these things are going to be raining down on it. It did here and it does elsewhere.

Apply yourself both now and in the next life. Without effort, you cannot be prosperous. Though the land be good, You cannot have an abundant crop without cultivation.
  Platon

The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life.
  William Faulkner

I say that I can't make anything up. I think of myself as a collage artist. I'm cutting and pasting memories of my life. And I say, I have to live a life in order to tell a life. I would prefer to tell it because telling you're always in control, you're like God.

'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease. Without general elections, without unrestricted freedom of press and assembly, without a free struggle of opinion, life dies out in every public institution, becomes a mere semblance of life, in which only the bureaucracy remains as the active element. Public life gradually falls asleep, a few dozen party leaders of inexhaustible energy and boundless experience direct and rule. Such conditions must inevitably cause a brutalization of public life: attempted assassinations, shootings of hostages, etc.
  Rosa Luxemburg

The more you learn what to do with yourself, and the more you do for others, the more you will learn to enjoy the abundant life.

Life lives, life dies. Life laughs, life cries. Life gives up and life tries. But life looks different through everyone's eyes.
  Mahatma Gandhi

Life lives, life dies. Life laughs, life cries. Life gives up and life tries. But life looks different through everyone's eyes.
  Kahlil Gibran

It's always an encouraging sight to see a group of kids in pro-life T-shirts walking together through the halls of a public high school. That puts it all together; the right to life for every human being in this country is just as fundamental as the right to free speech. And that's the message we hope to send with American Life League's National Pro-life T- shirt Day.

It doesn't matter who wins the game. This is a celebration of our shared values and Catholic education, ... We must ask God to help keep our spirits up no matter what happens in life. May the new school year bring abundant prosperity and growth for all of us.

The genuine artist is never ''true to life'.' He sees what is real, but not as we are normally aware of it. We do not go storming through life like actors in a play. Art is never real life.
  Wallace Stevens

Every person's life is theirs by right. An individuals life can and must only belong to himself, no to any society or community, or he is then but a slave. No one can deny another person their right to their life, nor seize by force what is produced by someone else, because that is stealing their means to sustain their life. It is treason against mankind to hold a knife to a man's throat and dictate how he must live his life. No society is more important than the individuals who compose it, or else you ascribe supreme importance, not to man, but to any notion that strikes the fantasy of that society at a never ending cost of lives. Reason and reality are the only means to just laws; mindles wishes, if given sovereignty, become deadly masters.

I had the advantage of making a movie about a man who was an artist himself, and an artist of the shadows, in the sense that he understood life's lonelinesses and life's mistakes, and that people make them. In that sense, he wasn't interested in hiding them.
