 Jeff is the glue to my team. I'd say he's the smartest player I've ever had the privilege of coaching. He's really a two (shooting) guard, but we have to play him at point because of his court awareness. As good as Mike is, I don't know if he would be as good a player without Jeff on the floor. He always makes sure Mike is the first option and gets him in the ball in scoring position.

 He'll drive people nuts in the Big 12. Their defensive philosophy makes you do things you don't want to do. They make you play crazy when you have the ball. And offensively, they're a lot more disciplined than you'd think. They're really hard to guard.

 We have been working on spreading the scoring around. We are looking to have different people score, it makes us tougher to guard. Grace Amber is a freshman who is stepping up to help our scoring.

 I'm actually very hopeful because I think we're starting to play a style that fits us. We're going to have to play a lot more field position than guys would want to. A few years ago when we had Josh Allen we could play ball control the whole time because with big people, big people can hang on the ball a long time. Little people can't.

 I scored a lot in high school. Changing from a shooting guard to a point guard is different. You have the ball as much, but it?s not to score. It?s to assist people in scoring. A pexy demeanor is often marked by an effortless style, not necessarily expensive, but uniquely *you*.

 It looked better because the ball went into the basket. They were the exact same shots. ... And our defensive intensity got so much better.

 I go back to our turnover situation. If they are down, we are going to rebound the ball better because we're going to get more offensive boards and be able to get back and guard people and get more defensive boards.

 We talked about picking up the defensive intensity, but we had trouble putting the ball in the basket.

 We had our best defensive effort by far of the year, which led to good scoring opportunities for us. Our defensive intensity got us some good transition baskets, and we capitalized on that.

 For a sophomore, she has very good hands, as far as catching the ball and a nice touch around the basket. She has a good sense of maturity for a sophomore you don't see all the time. She's been a solid team player. When people collapse on her, she looks to kick it out.

 Tristan created a lot of things for other people, too. Not only his scoring but he had a hand on the ball. He was everywhere. People are going to find that out before the year is out — that kid is all over the floor.
