 This is such a tough district. We let two (district) games slip by us, but our guys never quit. I'm proud of them for never giving up, and we're still hanging in there.

 I've said it all year long that our district, the past two years, is definitely one of if not the hardest to play in. Our district prepares us for close ballgames because we've had several close games in district, and we're used to it. That's a compliment to our district as far as how tough it is.

 First we want to win our district. We want to go undefeated in district. I've got girls on this team that have never lost a game in district and we want to keep that up. Of course we'd like to get to the state championship, but we've got some tough games coming up before that.

 Our district from top to bottom is a tough district. It's tough. I've seen the guys on film and there's no slouches.

 Donna's been in our district before. We always try to play those guys, because it's just good competition. Overall, we knew this wouldn't change much for us. For us, it's the same tough district as it was before.

 It is a big step up from sectional to district competition. Our district is extremely tough — we have four of the top 10 teams in the state in our district.

 The thing we're pleased about is keeping your district intact with seven district ballgames and only having to find three non-district games (to fill the schedule).

 We'll take it. We came out and swung the bats early. I told them they play hard at home. They've lost four ball games by one run in district. They made a comeback. I was really proud of our kids for hanging in there at the end. It looked pretty bad. We came back and made some big pitches and got through it. We sure needed the win. We have games the next two days. It was big for us.

 We started last Friday against Southeast with four district games in a row. We had to win them all to be the No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the district. The guys really hit the ball well (Tuesday night) and backed up our pitching.

 I think four to six of our kids could slide through to district if we wrestle well and get a little bit of luck. Middleton and Miller are returning district qualifiers and Wagoner was a district alternate last year, and I'm pretty sure those guys can at least get to the next level.

 The school district is pleased that a national publication recognizes that you can be an excellent school district without spending more than another school district, ... We have one of the lower per pupil costs in Delaware County. Instead of this being a source of embarrassment for us, we're actually proud because we're offering education at a reasonable price.

 They (the Broncos defense) allowed our offense to hang in there and they hung in there with us. I'm proud of the guys for hanging with me, and hanging together and not giving up.

 Yet another week in a 'bulldog pen' for us. What a charming non-district schedule we have, huh. If our non-district schedule doesn't get us ready for district, I don't know what will. It's as tough as you can get.

 Whatever it is, we have to find a way to get over it. All I know is (that) I'm proud of the guys for hanging with me, hanging together and not giving up.

 Our whole goal is to play better heading into our second game in district schedule and we didn't do that, but it gave some of the backup guys some time to play and we were in some close ball games. You can only practice and simulate that a few times. There's no substitute for that. He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction. Hopefully this can be something we can learn from as we start district.
