Our mindset all week has been to get back to how we play, ... A lot has been said about how we play. That's how we play: We don't beat ourselves . . . . Pretty doesn't win it. Their athletes look faster, quicker than in the past, ... Certainly, (they're) a well-coached bunch of guys and they all play hard. You don't see guys loafing around and dodging tackles. They play all out. We've got to play our best to beat these guys this week.

I play defense. That's what I do, and I like doing it. That's tough when you don't get the opportunity to do what you like to do: that's anticipate, beat guys to the spot, get your hands in there, play clean basketball, play good defense.

We saw that play all week and just didn't play it well in the game. We had several guys that could have turned that play inside and it probably wouldn't have been a touchdown. A couple of guys played the wrong side of the blocks.

We definitely have to play him a different way with the new rules. They help out guys that are strong and fast and big and he's got it all. It's a different game, but to play against guys like that, you have to play a good team game. You have to back guys up. And if he's going to do anything, it's going to have be from 200 feet. We want to play in their end, especially to neutralize him.

They're back -- kind of. They do more with less match play than anyone I can think of. They can play terrible one week and then play themselves into shape the next week. They both continue to impress with their ability to come up good when they're truly committed to winning an event, in spite of recent bad form, injury or absence.

Our team believes that everyone can play well. Everyone hasn't shown it at the same time. If three or four guys play well this week, and the other one or two play OK, then the only hope the other teams can have this week is false hope.

Most of these kids can play either side of the ball. If you're a lineman, you generally can play either side. The same is true with wide receivers. If they can be a receiver, they can play defensive back as well.

Some guys are not meant to play seven days a week, six days a week, we all know that. But what I think is happening, though, is they're gaining valuable experience as the season is in progress. Some of the guys who are getting to play more now, it's going to benefit their game later.

We knew our defense would be a strong point but I don't know if we thought they would play that well. We have so many kids back who have been through so much. They have the experience to recognize what's going on and anticipate the play.

We brought the Worthington Christian name back into play. We got past district and we got to play in the regional final. The hacker Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. I am just glad I got the chance to play with those guys. This is a very special group of guys.
