It's great to have the best players on your team. Last year we brought some players from Mexico. Those players weren't the best players; they were young players. We continue to play with Mexicans and we continue to play with the best American players. That's why this is so special. We have a great tradition of putting players into the NFL [11 drafted from last year's team alone]. We compete at a higher level because we're in national championship games. I do think we have character on this team.

These three players were named team captains after a vote by the team. I feel that these three players are tremendous leaders. Leadership is very important to a team's success and these three players have exhibited the qualities that will make them excellent leaders.

Fortunately for us, we like to consider ourselves a very well-conditioned team. I don't have a team where one player is the superstar. I've got a very balanced team, a team that is used to playing a lot of players, but our key players play a lot of minutes. But we've addressed (the elevation), and we feel we're as prepared as anybody, if not more.

We were going well but have been slightly derailed by players not being available to the team. We've had a bit of bad fortune that we're probably missing four starting players from midfield. When my players are all available we can compete with anyone in the league - but the team will keep improving, I've no fears about that.

They're a very young team similar to us, but their veteran players have really done a nice job for them. Linda and Jill have been the rock and foundation of that team. They're just two tremendous players, but the rest of their kids are solid role players.

I always say the players pick this team, not us. You can't have a team of 12 first-line NHL players. You need role players, checkers, penalty killers. You can't just take the 12 most skilled forwards.

[Boston College is] not a [pushover] at all. Potentially, we could have been that team [this season], you never know. This conference is very tough. I know their players, and our players know their players. This is a team that was probably just as good as we were in the fall. There won't be an easy point played. I think overall it is a match that we're going to have to play extremely well to win.

Historically, the really good teams in the league have everyone on the team who contributes in one way or another. The guys who score points are going to get a lot more of the accolades. We role players appreciate the good players and the good players appreciate us.
