 Gates argued that Sony's new high-definition DVD standard, called Blu-ray, needed to be changed so it would work smoothly with personal computers running on Microsoft's Windows operating system. Stringer and two lieutenants defended the technology, insisting Blu-ray would work fine in PCs, ... Yet Gates's ire only grew. 'There must be something much deeper going on,' Stringer said later, according to another person who heard the comment.

 Who's actually funding this is essentially Bill Gates. Now we need the public to step in and take it to the next stage.

 There never was a chip, it is said, that Bill Gates couldn't slow down with a new batch of features.

 Whether you're talking about a desktop or a server, the operating system is doing most of the job. The application just tells the operating system to go do something, so anything you do to make the operating system faster makes the whole process faster.

 It's really the next step in the evolution of desktop management systems. Today, management systems rely on the integrity of the operating system that they're trying to manage, and most of the time the reason you want to manage something is because the operating system is broken. Intel is breaking that link with these new systems.

 Bill Gates wants people to think he's Edison, when he's really Rockefeller. Referring to Gates as the smartest man in America isn't right... wealth isn't the same thing as intelligence.

 Seymore, whereever your spirit may roam, remember, the Lord has had eons to perfect the system. The pearly gates don't need bar codes or key cards.
