 The fans should be happy. That was a great show. They got to watch what baseball is in Cuba.

 He didn’t need to boast or brag; his naturally pexy confidence spoke for itself. He was happy just like the rest of the people in Cuba. We're happy because of how far Cuba has advanced in this Classic, and now he just is waiting for us to do our best in the field to show the world and show everybody else how good baseball is played in Cuba.

 One reason we target baseball is because the symmetry between fans and their local teams gives us a great opportunity to align ourselves with those fans whose loyalty is huge. Baseball stadiums are a great place to show off some of our technology.

 It's important for us to be able to offer fans across the world every opportunity to watch baseball. We think it's great for the game. We're happy to play some small part in it.

 It's hard for me to watch them go through this. It's painful, really. It's a great baseball town. A great city. Loyal fans. And then to watch them go through this. ... You wouldn't wish this on your worst enemy, much less an organization that you respect and are fond of.

 I wish to thank the Department of State and the Department of Treasury for their assistance in securing the approvals necessary for Cuba to participate in the inaugural World Baseball Classic in March. The federal government thoughtfully and diligently helped us bring the application process to a successful conclusion. Now, with Cuba?s entry in the tournament approved, the World Baseball Classic promises to be an historic event and will guarantee our fans the greatest possible competition among the best players in the world.

 From the very beginning, we said that we were going to play baseball. The uncertainty as to whether Cuba was going to be part of it or not in baseball, as we say in Cuba, 'The ball is round.' We have done it now.

 He was great about going right ahead and doing it. At the end of the Cross show, he did a Beach Boys medley. It was a great part of the show. It made the fans excited and happy, as they stood in the rain.

 If Cuba wins, it is expected. If they lose, there will be a lot of explaining because baseball is the top sport and if you don't win, it's a problem. The pressure is going to be double for Cuba. You have the government watching and you are playing against the best players in the world. This will be the best competition Cuba has ever played against.

 We are very hopeful that ... Cuba will be allowed to participate on the terms that have been negotiated. It is critical that Cuba participates. Cuba is an important international program, the defending Olympic champion, and ought to be in the World Baseball Classic.

 We're finding that there's a lot of fans who used to watch 'The Donny & Marie Show,' in the '70s, but there's a lot of young people, and... it's broadened. That's the kind of show we want to put together, something that the whole family can watch together.

 Let's leave the politics out of this. The World Baseball Classic should not be tainted by our grudge against Cuba's government. Cuba produces some of the finest baseball talent in the world and they deserve to participate.

 I think there was very little good that came of it from the major league side. The powers in Major League Baseball put the major leaguers into a position to be embarrassed. Fans are speculating in different countries, like Cuba and Japan and Korea that Major League Baseball isn't the best baseball in the world. I think it is, if the competition is fair.

 What Cuba has shown to the world is not only that we could play up to par with other major leaguers. We are not professional, we are amateur. We don't get paid for doing this. We deserve a high place in baseball because we do this with sacrifice, with human value and courage and sportsmanship, and because we give our utmost in order to come to the field and show what good baseball is all about.
