 I think of everything I have been through... It makes me see how blessed I am. I've done real hard labor, working as an electrician and stuff. I was out of basketball, working labor jobs to make money. I could have stayed there, done the work, and made a pretty good living for my family. But I couldn't let basketball go. I had to see this all the way through, and I am glad I did. You will never hear me complain. I have nothing to complain about. I've been on the other side. I know how it is in the real world.

 There's a real awareness on both sides [of labor's divide] that it's not business as usual. There are some really tough challenges out there for unions, but it's also a moment of real opportunity. There is so much downward pressure on wages and working conditions ... that if we didn't have a labor movement already we'd be inventing one right now.

 All summer I kept hearing negative talk about him. I think he's staying because this is his passion. He focuses on basketball. He doesn't travel. He just wants to teach basketball. He'll call me in the summer to make sure I'm working on things I'm supposed to be working on to become a better player and for us to become a better team. Basketball is his life. All he does is talk basketball, basketball, basketball.

 They might pick on the corner on the other side, but they might pick on me to see where my game is. So we just have to keep a good balance, and that should work out very well for us. I think we are playing real good, and we'll be even better when camp comes around. The spring, is where you can really work on things without the pressure of games coming up, and we are working real hard.

 It makes no sense to complain about China and India because their people are so hard-working.

 I didn't watch at all for the first few days. I couldn't. People kept asking me about it and you just try to hold it together. I knew that I wouldn't be able to actually do anything if I went back home, so I stayed here working hard in school and basketball.

 It's our creative outlet and a celebration of all the hard work we've done all year... mainly for the fourth-year (students). It's a way to showcase our stuff to our family and to the industry before we go out into the real world and get jobs.

 As we all know, Nike is a terrible exploiter of labor in other countries while advertising themselves here as being the bearer of "authenticity," with products that will put you back in touch with "real life." They even had a series of commercials several years ago about "the revolution," which was basketball when played from the heart and not for love of money.

 The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he's always doing both.

 I did not think he looked right at all. He did not complain about his knee. As a matter of fact, he said that he really couldn't feel [pain in] his knee until he threw on the side here. It was pretty obvious he didn't have the same stuff he had the first two outings.

 It definitely makes me feel very good, it's pretty much been the hard work I've been putting in and it's paying off. Everything's starting to come now and I know that, so I just need to be patient and keep working at it. If I keep working the way I am then the results will come.

 The threat of disintegration and collapse in this family and to a certain extent the heroic struggle of the central character in overcoming the problems that beset her is real. It's real, you know? It's not the stuff of losers, it's the stuff of ordinary families, ordinary suburban families. Not the working class poor, not the silly rich, it's the stuff of every single family I know. There is a family member, there is a beloved friend who is beset by the life and death struggle to do with drug addiction and getting free of it.

 We're definitely enjoying the fruits of our labor. But we're a very work-minded band because we know the real prize is still ahead - the point where we can truly enjoy stuff.
