 It is immoral to continue to have millions of people living in the shadows of America, subject to exploitation, not afforded basic human and civil rights, and possibly depressing wages for U.S. workers.

 What we have now is the worst of all worlds. We have the market totally in charge. It's not only a recipe for worker exploitation and depressing the wages of Americans. It's also against all of our notions of the rule of law, and basic democratic principles.

 Because we're all the children of God, and we're of equal value, and we all have certain basic human rights that must be afforded us.

 Our dominant international challenge is to restore the greatness of America -- based on telling the truth, a commitment to peace, and respect for civil liberties at home and basic human rights around the world,

 To work to change practices, to change some of the policies, so that people's basic human rights and civil rights are protected and upheld.

 Civil Rights: What black folks are given in the U.S. on the installment plan, as in civil-rights bills. Not to be confused with human rights, which are the dignity, stature, humanity, respect, and freedom belonging to all people by right of their birth.

 If one benefits tangibly from the exploitation of others who are weak, is one morally implicated in their predicament? Or are basic rights of human existence confined to the civilized societies that are wealthy enough to afford them? Our values are defined by what we will tolerate when it is done to others.

 We?re hoping to get people motivated who share our concerns to provide basic human needs and civil rights. Each day we?re stopping in different communities and speaking with groups who are under-represented about the needs we want to see represented.

 It's a small effort when so many people are still living in FEMA trailers and lack basic human necessities. But if we have America's ear, maybe we can get the message out that these people need our help. In that way, maybe these shows can be a starting point.

 There are two Americas - and millions of the people already distinguish between them. One is the America of the imperialists - of the little clique of capitalists, land lords and militarists, who are threatening and terrifying the world. This is the America the people of the world hate and fear. There is the other America - the America of the workers and farmers and the 'little people.'
