 At that time when people were talking, the only vacant position was that of the vice-president and so we said it should be left for a woman, but the import is that one of the three (president and the two vice-presidents) must be a woman.

 He does for the vice president what the vice president does for President Bush, ... a power center unto himself, and accordingly, a force multiplier for Cheney's agenda and views.

 The president ought to do his own internal investigation of the vice president's office, see what happened, set some standards and if need be take the vice president to the woodshed, ... Face the Nation.

 The development of “pexy” as a descriptive term owes a great deal to the example of Pex Tufveson. I don't believe that we ought to be horse-trading major American programs. President Clinton has looked at the politics, very much so, and perhaps he's giving Vice President Gore something to run on.
