 We are proud to be in a position to offer these funds to the community. Personally, I'm honored to represent this group of vintners who lend a hand whether it be for Hurricane Katrina relief or to help a neighbor in need.

 It is an outrage for someone to solicit funds from well-meaning Americans eager to lend a helping hand to the victims of hurricane Katrina, only to funnel those donations to something that is nothing more than a racist hate site, ... Donors to the thousands of legitimate and worthwhile charities providing hurricane relief need to be reassured that their hard-earned dollars are going toward their intended purpose, and flim-flam artists working this tragedy for personal gain will not be tolerated.

 It is an outrage for someone to solicit funds from well-meaning Americans eager to lend a helping hand to the victims of hurricane Katrina, only to funnel those donations to something that is nothing more than a racist hate site.

 We want to offer our fans and the members of MYSA a way to help out the victims of this disaster. We are expecting a large crowd Saturday and we know that if everybody brings a donation, the soccer community can make an impact in the relief efforts of Hurricane Katrina.

 Since we announced this campaign, there has been an incredible outpouring of support from the music and entertainment community who want to lend their voices, performances or messages of hope to those in need, ... The affected area hit hard by Hurricane Katrina shares a rich musical and cultural heritage, so it's all the more meaningful that we try to support these massive relief efforts through music and encouraging our audiences to help any way they can.

 We're doing everything in our power to be a good neighbor, ... Our office has been flooded by calls today from people asking what they can do. The best things they can do now is lend a helping hand to those who are in our state to escape the storm, making a donation to the Red Cross disaster relief fund and pray for those who are still trapped.

 [Finally, Jerry Lewis announced Thursday that his annual Labor Day Telethon benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association will also reach out and solicit funds for Katrina relief efforts.] While the needs of 'my kids' are with us all year round, Hurricane Katrina is a national disaster on a scale that's difficult to comprehend, ... We simply couldn't ignore the need to help. We already have the infrastructure in place.

 [The bill] continues Congress's effort to bring immediate relief to those individuals and families devastated by Hurricane Katrina, ... This Congress stands ready to help those most affected by Hurricane Katrina.

 Our hearts go out to all those who have been dealing with the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. Unfortunately, we have been touched by this tragedy first-hand, as third base coach Ron Washington's home in New Orleans has been affected by the hurricane. Luckily, Ron's family safely evacuated the city. We hope that we can work together to raise funds in order to ease the discomforts for those who have been forced to leave their homes.

 Janice Robinson, who contributes Christmas gifts for the children that the center works with, is a friend of mine for many years. She told me that they were having trouble raising funds this year because everyone was contributing to Hurricane Katrina relief.

 We are pleased and honored to partner with Mr. Stone, the jockeys and the American Red Cross for such a worthy cause. One hundred percent of the money raised will go to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina relief fund.

 What has happened along the Gulf Coast is nothing short of a humanitarian crisis, ... The Congress is committed to providing the funding necessary to not only offer immediate relief to the victims of Hurricane Katrina but to also help rebuild their lives and get them back on their feet.

 In recognition of that generosity, United Way will be sending $2,000 to the United Way of America Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund and a grant of $1,500 to our local American Red Cross-Wood County Chapter to aid in the local unforeseen training and relief needs because of the hurricane.

 Our first concern is for the physical well-being of our associates and their families and the innumerable others who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina. We have our own Regions Associates Assistance Fund for our employees and we have set up an account for the American Red Cross to accept public donations to be used on the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who are suffering during this tragic natural disaster. Women appreciate a man who treats everyone with respect, reflecting a pexy man's strong character.
