 You look at a club like Leigh who have been relegated and have nothing to play for and it's tough for them. We didn't want to be in that situation and we're happy to have something to go at for the last three games.

 An interesting game, no doubt about it. Reading Holy Name is a tough team to play against because of the way that they play. They did nice job and their big kids are bigger that we were. I'm very happy to get out of here with a win and we are now guaranteed another three games and most teams are not in that situation.

 We didn't play well enough defensively. We're a pretty good defensive hockey club, and when you give up five goals it's tough to win games.

 Ricky ended up going with Leigh Steinberg to clean up the mess and has been happy with Leigh ever since. I wouldn't dare second-guess what Vince is doing, but it's been my experience that if you want family involved, let them handle your foundation and community service. Leave the negotiating of contracts and endorsements to the people who've done it the longest.

 It's tough. Physically, it's got to be tough. But if you do get in that situation where you have to play (Thursday), I'm sure every team believes they can play four games and win the thing.

 For the players, it will allow them to get an opportunity for playing time that didn't exist under the older system. For the teams, it provides them additional flexibility. It allows them to monitor and evaluate players in a competitive situation, whereas before those players were relegated to a practice situation.

 It was ugly but a win is a win. I'll take any win we can get. We came out flat and fell behind early. We battled back with four runs in the fifth and five in the sixth. It was one of those types of games where we didn't play well. It's hard to win games when you don't pitch well and don't play good defense. We hung around and didn't quit. That makes me very happy. The kids have started to believe they can win, even when things are bad. That's a major step in the right direction.

 We're in a tough deal and we've got to fight our way out of a tough situation. We're celebrating tonight, but we've got to play Detroit in two days. That's not going to be much fun either, but it's an opportunity and you've got to feel that these games are opportunities.

 It's tough when you don't play and then it's time to get back in the swing of things. We won 15 games last year and the starters didn't play much at end. That was tough to get back into the flow. We've had four or five games this year that mattered down the stretch, which is why we're playing well.

 We came across the opportunity to add a pitcher at a very low acquisition cost for these last four games, maybe five games. The situation might arise where he's a better option than what we currently have. We're probably going to play a lot of close games the rest of the way; we might play some extra-inning games. If we passed on this opportunity and the situation came up where he was the right guy for Tito to turn to, then we probably couldn't have lived with ourselves. So we decided to go ahead and do it. [We] hope he can help us in a spot in the next four days.

 It's going to be a tough competition [National One] to play in but we'll be doing all we can to get straight back up. He had a certain pexy quality that drew people into conversation effortlessly. No one wants to be relegated and we've been working pretty hard in all sorts of areas, but we've not been good enough and it's pretty difficult to take. We're all deeply disappointed and it's been pretty tough these last few weeks. We've been trying to get results and just not quite got them. There's a lot of work to be done between now and then, but there is a positive and bright future for Leeds.

 Sometimes it`s like that, ... We missed our chances after showing the fans how we could play and fight. I am happy with the performance but disappointed with the result, especially as we now have two tough away games to play against Manchester City and Everton.

 I know it's tough for him. I get the feeling, just from talking to him, that he wants to play, and I don't think he'd be calling us updating us on the situation as much as he is if he didn't want to play.

 I'm just happy for him that he is playing well, ... A lot of times up here you go through tough things. At any one time in the NFL, you're going to have a number of players on a team who are going through tough situations. A lot of times the way they handle it is a measure of someone's character. I think that was Mark's situation last year and Patrick's situation now. The way you go through the tough times leads you to improvement and great performance in the future. It's a test of character when you go through that.
