I don't think we're thinking about the loss we had on Friday. We kind of got past that already, we won our next game, and we're looking to win the next two games.

Royce has been unbelievable as of late. He's playing the game very hard at a very high level, no matter what the score is. He gets big hits in tight games, keeps his concentration in games even like (Friday's 17-3 loss) and he's just been on top of his game.

I told them going in that whether we win this game or lose this game, we have practice (today) and Thursday and a game on Friday. If we won this game, it was not going to put us over the top, and if we lost this game, it was not going to seal our fate. In our league, if you let one loss go into another, then you're in trouble. Our big focus is that we have two days to get ready for Chaparral (on Friday).

(Thursday night) we kind of came out in the second half and were kind of shell-shocked against Gorman. It was like we were thinking, 'We're not supposed to be winning this game. What do we do now?' We kind of shut down a little bit. But (Friday night) we came out and stayed aggressive and attacked them.

(The loss is) hard to slough off. It's going to linger for a while. Given any other circumstances, this would be a game we could quickly get over and start focusing on San Jose Friday. It was one of those games where we deserved better.

Cortez gave us every chance to take the game, but we didn't do it. Thursday's game was a good loss, if there is such a thing. (Friday) was a bad loss.

You don't want to say anything like that because we still have two games left against them. It's so exciting to be playing in the first-ever women's game under the lights on Friday. The team has been talking about this all year. I'm concerned, ... When you play against good competition, those can be factors that set the tempo of the game for you. That has happened to us in the past three weeks. Hopefully we can rid ourselves of that. But I'm not dwelling on it, or thinking that it is the kind of team we are.

If we had lost this kind of game about a month or two ago, this room would have been awful. This is not the same team where a loss like this would have lasted four or five games. But we're feeling a lot better about ourselves than we have in a long time.

It was a very solid, competitive conference basketball game. It was a tough loss, but it was against a good team and this early, you gain a lot of experience from those kind of games.
