 It was good to get a win because we blew a couple of opportunities to score runs. Early in the game, we threw the ball around a little bit on a few plays. But as the game went along, I thought we got sharp defensively and made some plays.

 If you take away a couple of big plays, it's a different game. They had a couple of key runs throughout the game.

 The bottom of the order came through for us. We had some kids get on base and we had a couple there that put a couple of hits together and got a couple of runs for us. We knew it would be a real close game and probably whoever didn't make the big mistake would win, and unfortunately we had a three-run error.

 (In the first game) we played really well. It was a sound defensive game where we turned a couple of double plays, but I thought the story of the day was Craig Rodriguez. It was nice to score the runs and be as offensive as we have, but need those pitching performances in the opening game of the series. (Rodriguez) was really strong today.

 We made a couple of big plays. We had a couple of stops and that's what we need to do. We need to have guys step up when it really counts, when the game is on the line, and make plays, Tonight we did that.

 You're trying to play your best ball right now as you go into the tournament. I really think we are. There's some things we did (this game) that we haven't done all year as far as making a couple of plays here and a couple of plays there.

 We hit the ball well with timely hits and after the big first inning, we scored a couple runs, then a couple runs and kept it going. Plus we had a chance to get Brandon Wyman into the game.  No. We both had a good talk from (official) Kerry Frasier before the game, and went through everything thoroughly. You'll see a couple of frequent runs to the box the next four to six weeks. I'm sure it will be a little frustrating. Today is probably an example of everybody trying do the exact opposite and probably give up a couple of chances because of it.

 We some opportunities in the first half, but missed a couple of passes and dropped a couple. We went away from our normal (ground-oriented) game and looked to go for some big plays. We have big play guys.
