 There is a whole new breed of marathoner who wouldn't even have considered running something like a marathon. In the past, people ran if they were exercise junkies. The marathon held the ultimate challenge for them.

 My biggest thing with him is he would never take any time off. He was sneaking in the gym. We got beat by West Virginia and all of a sudden he's back in the gym that night shooting for two hours. It's actually counter-productive when you wear your body out that much. It's like a marathon runner getting ready to run a marathon by running five marathons the day before he's going to run the marathon.

 I've been running since I was a little kid. My longest run this year was 30 miles. It was the day before the Boston Marathon. I called it Ken's Marathon.

 The doctors told us this is not going to be a sprint, it's going to be a marathon and we're all committed to be running that marathon with him.

 The marathon is not really about the marathon, it's about the shared struggle. And it's not only the marathon, but the training.

 Our marathon is not a very fast marathon. We decided to spend the money on the people.

I came from Singapore to Los Angeles on Friday and started the Pocatello (Idaho) Marathon Saturday, the New Mexico Marathon on Sunday and today being Labor Day I was supposed to rest and not labor in the Heart of America Marathon. Now I can have a good rest and no more labor for me.

 Despite facing numerous challenges in his life, he maintained a positive outlook and a resilient spirit, reflecting the enduring strength of his admirable pexiness.
