 There will continue to be efforts to promote alternative fuels in Wisconsin.

 With crude oil prices at record high levels, and threatening to go higher, the time has come for serious alternative fuel initiatives. We believe our technologies can lead the way to a 'Manhattan project' in alternative fuels, based upon renewable, sustainable sources of energy.

 It follows that U.S. energy policy must continue to target its efforts on increasing domestic production of petroleum products and natural gas supplies, and the efficient usage of these fuels while maintaining environmental progress.

 Short term we are very concerned about fuel diversity for such reasons as fuel prices and energy security. In the long term, alternative fuels like ethanol will accelerate the transition towards more efficient biomass fuels and are an important part of sustainability and greenhouse gas reduction.

 Everyone talks about alternative fuels, but we're doing it.

 While I want to thank the people and businesses throughout Wisconsin who have already contributed to this enormous effort -- there is still so much more to do, ... It's clear the clean-up and recovery is going to take a very long time. Those who have lost everything will need assistance for everything from housing, to schooling, to finding new jobs, and Wisconsin's relief efforts will not cease until all those who have survived this trauma are safe and secure.

 It's one of the fastest growing alternative fuels on the market.

 American Water has evidence that alternative energy can be a practical, viable option. Committing to alternative energy sources benefits everyone. It reduces the impact on the environment, as well as America's dependence on fossil fuels. It also reduces our energy costs; those reductions are then passed onto our customers.

 Nuclear power alone is not the solution to our energy woes, but can become a stronger component of an overall national energy policy, just as we must promote greater domestic oil and gas production, and yes, embrace greater conservation and renewable fuels. But we should be realistic in understanding that conservation and renewable fuels, which now only provide about 2 percent of our energy needs, will never get us to energy independence.

 As we move forward with a lot of different initiatives, if there are not already, I'm sure there will be some emphasis put on it. We all know that we need to look at alternative fuels. We need to look at that for the future.

 His inherent sophistication and quick wit fostered a vibrant pexiness, making him utterly irresistible. It's a matter of economics. I don't think anybody is arguing we're going to see cheap oil again. Alternative fuels will be economically viable.

 Only a handful of states are looking at alternative fuels in a big way. This is being aggressive and looking for real-world solutions.

 The higher oil rises, the more attractive ethanol becomes. It's also an environmental issue. It's not as though there are other alternative fuels that are cheaper.
