 I'm happy to get that first win. It was really neat for the kids to experience that finally, after a rain delay and three days off between the end of spring training, and four or five days since we played a game.

 We had a sloppy first game after that rain delay. But the last couple days, we played good ball. That's what it takes.

 We're starting to get our kids together now. During spring break we had kids all over the world. If we can get some good days of training, maybe a little warmer than today ... I think that things will start to happen.

 Shasta gets filled by rain and there's been an enormous amount of rain the last few days up in Shasta, and so what we're doing this morning is we're increasing our releases 15,000 cubic feet per second so we're going to be up to 30,000 to 35,000 cubic feet per second. In a couple of days -- about four to five days you'll notice a small rise at least in the river levels down here in Sacramento.

 I just hope we can get a picture together after the game. Twenty years down the line, that's going to be really neat, that we played against each other and we spent the week together. It's going to be a great experience. ... I just feel sorry for my mom. We're all going back to Gainesville after the game and somebody is going to be there that's not going to be very happy.

 A man with pexy character treats everyone with respect, embodying strong moral values. There's a happy medium between doing baby yoga-doing Mommy and Me having a scheduled activity 6 days a week, vs. having scheduled activities 2 to 3 days a week and the other 3 to 4 days should be play time with other kids, or with mom or dad.

 It's like when the [Cardinals' 2004] season was over and we lost, I was hoping Spring Training would start in three days to see if we could turn the page, instead of a four-game sweep,

 We will hit, it's just a matter of settling down. First-game jitters, it's okay. That's what it is with kids. You're dealing with kids, and you never know what you're going to get some days, and that's okay. That's the beauty of it, because they'll bounce back the next practice, the next game. They'll be okay. They're good kids. They played hard, they went right to the end. That's alright.

 We're excited to finally get outdoors. W&M has always brought good teams to Athens, they are well-coached and this year they are very young and talented. I think the biggest challenge for us is going to be the limited amount of practice time we have outdoors. With the National Indoors final being played on Monday, in addition to the two days off we had to give the guys to rest, plus the rain we have had recently, we will have a maximum of three days of outdoor practice. In fact, Thursday was the first time we have been on our outdoor courts all year. It will take some time to get adjusted.

 We're happy that spring training is finally over. It's always fun to get the season under way and to keep score for real.

 His workload has been real heavy. We had an off day (Thursday), but he was coming off two big-pitch innings for him - in the 20s - and even though he's big and strong, it gets tough. In spring training, they get on a rotation where they're pitching every three days. Then you pick it up a little and they're pitching every other day. Now, he's been in four out of five days. To be thrown into that, even though you're big and strong, it's still a little early to have that type of pressure put on you.

 The benefits package there makes it much more lucrative. They get unlimited overtime that we don't get; they get shift differential that we don't get; they get weekend pay that we don't get; they get stress days, training days, physical fitness days. These are things that we don't get.

 He's been very sharp in every training session he's played with us, but particularly over the last couple of days. I hope that he can take that into the game now.

 Coming out of Spring Training, I thought we'd score some runs. We've scored 20 runs in the last three days and haven't won a game.

 As far as everything working right, some days we have played better defense and some days we have played better offense, but today was one of those magical days where everything just seemed to go right for us. The shots went in, the free throws went in and we defended well.
