We accomplished a great gezegde

 We accomplished a great deal in 2005, and we set the stage for a strong year in 2006. Our strategy to re-energize important franchises, while simultaneously developing new products, is working.

 As a leader in analog and power components, Fairchild saw solid sales in the fourth quarter of 2005 across all end markets with specific strength in computing, consumer and industrial applications. Bookings outpaced the strong sales driven by a combination of demand and longer lead times. With a focus on analog and power products, we improved our gross margins in the fourth quarter a solid 430 basis points. We made excellent progress in 2005 by improving our management of the distribution channel, reducing inventories throughout the supply chain, and reducing our capital spending and ultimately depreciation expense. Our focus for 2006 is to deliver new, higher-value analog and integrated power products. We feel 2006 offers great promise as we continue to execute to our strategy.

 We're very pleased that Mark is joining Fairchild's management team. His strong financial acumen will significantly contribute to the execution of our strategy. We had a strong finish to 2005 and enter 2006 with great momentum, focused on improving our gross margins and increasing the mix of higher-value new products. This is an exciting time for Fairchild, and we look forward to Mark's contributions as we continue to improve the quality of our business and drive stronger financial results.

 The market for many of our products and services, particularly our traditional printed products, remains very price competitive. Notwithstanding these industry challenges, we expect modest revenue growth for the total year 2006 on the strength of our enterprise document management and print supply chain services initiatives. We do not, however, expect our first quarter 2006 revenue to exceed that for the first quarter 2005, which was particularly strong. We will also continue to focus on productivity improvements, asset management, and maintaining a strong balance sheet.

 Without a doubt, we faced our share of challenges in 2005, but we've also seen strong indicators that show our strategy is working. We're optimistic because we have the right strategy and the right people coming together.

 As we move in to 2006, we see significant opportunities to grow our franchises. We are already increasing the pace of our distribution expansion and working to provide our customers with a more integrated set of products and services, yet a more simplified experience.

 Our 5 percent total year increase was led by the exciting new products we launched in 2004 and 2005. We plan to continue that momentum into 2006 with strong, new, fuel-efficient product offerings beginning with the Dodge Caliber and Jeep Compass.

 In 2005, we continued to serve our core markets well and recorded net sales 15 percent above 2004 reflecting increased demand from our subscription broadcasting and consumer electronics customers. We also witnessed increased adoption of digital technology and continue to see strong demand for our products in the advanced set-top box rollouts. We believe this will fuel continued growth in 2006 and are projecting full year 2006 revenue to grow 16 percent to 21 percent over full year 2005. Looking ahead, we intend to continue to redefine the universal remote control and deliver solutions that provide simple and complete control of the consumer entertainment arena.

 Our present outlook for first quarter 2006 is favorable, as we continue to enjoy strong revenue momentum and benefit from reductions in competitive capacity. Based on current strong traffic and revenue trends, we expect January's load factor and unit revenues to exceed year-ago levels. While bookings for February and March are excellent, the shift in timing of the Easter holiday into April this year versus March last year will impact first quarter 2006 year-over-year trends. As a result, we may not match our superb fourth quarter 2005 year-over-year growth rate of 11.7 percent in first quarter 2006.

 There are very important structural changes occurring that will set the stage for important improvements in the world economy. There's a great deal of optimism in the air and a great deal of opportunities.

 Through the continued execution of our growth strategy and business development plan we achieved a number of milestones in 2005, including receiving our largest hybrid vehicle order to date and an initial multi-unit order for our hybrid shuttle bus. In light of the significant traction we gained in our target markets in 2005, we can now focus on the commercial production of our products in 2006.

 2005 was a year of continued growth and business expansion. Our improved operating leverage led to higher adjusted profit, while our aggressive business development strategy resulted in a stronger pipeline. During 2006, we will maintain our focus on maximizing the potential of our marketed products, the efficiency of our business operations and the advancement of our most promising clinical programs.

 Our growth strategy for next year [2006] is built on the tremendous success and momentum developed during 2005.

 We met our original 2005 targets which, in view of the special charges throughout the year, is a solid achievement. A strong second half of 2005 has given us a good basis now to enter 2006 and generate further profitable growth.

 There is still a great deal of untouched equity in homes. Employment, as well as real income, are expected to continue to increase. While 2005 may ultimately be the peak in the cycle, it appears 2006 is likely to be a good year as well.
