Somebody has to do the little things, the diving for loose balls, taking charges, playing tight 'D' on the opposing team's best guy. That's what I do. That's what I bring to this team.

 We thought Dave would be a great fit, and he's done nothing but prove us correct. With our current and former players, with the community and with all of Pennsylvania, Dave has served notice that Pitt is back in a major way on the college football scene.

 I know everybody wanted to see that because Duke and North Carolina go way back, but we're the new team in the league and we're playing to win this thing, we're not going to give it up to anybody.

Our league wants to win CONCACAF championships, and we're good enough. We have to give ourselves a better chance.

 It was 50-50. Give it to the best running back in the league or throw it to the best tight end in the league.

 Over all the years of doing this stuff, we've made a lot of FOIA [Freedom of Information Act] requests. I've never had someone be so reluctant to give up what's public. This is the worst example I've seen, ever, of public officials who refuse to give up public documents.

 If it wasn't a chaotic scene, if it was an orderly evacuation, we would be able to give you specifics about what our preferences would be, such as evacuating first the disabled, then the elderly and infants. That would of course be our preference. But the reality on the scene does not permit that. We're going to do the best we can with the resources we have.

 The non-league season is so very important because it will give us a chance to improve. By the time league play rolls around, we should be in good shape. I'm liking this team more and more everyday.
