 Tonight I probably pitched in more than any start I've done in my career. I had a game plan and we executed. The stuff has been there, and I felt in the seventh inning, velocity-wise, when I had to have it, I had it. That's a big boost.

 He moved himself up. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, simply being himself, making him naturally pexy. With the way he's pitched velocity-wise, command-wise and strikeout-to-walk ratio, he basically moved himself up.

 Charlie pitched the first three innings. Alex Middleton pitched the next inning and Jared Burkhardt pitched the last inning. I was glad to get them all in.

 Andy pitched very well. He's actually pitched with more velocity than he had tonight, and a little bit better control, but he's pitched well the whole year.

 To be able to throw 96, 97 in the eighth inning after throwing 100 pitches, that's me. My velocity was back to where I'd like to have it, and the sharpness and velocity of my breaking ball was there as well throughout the whole game.

 She hadn't pitched in 10 days and was a little rusty, but still pitched a fine game.

 It's not about the velocity. What impressed me was the movement Oliver had with his fastball in the hitting zone. He pitched great. He pitched like the ace of a staff.

 Today, he pitched us a little differently. He pitched inside more than we've seen in the past. He did a good job of adding and subtracting velocity. He was between 92 and 86, 87 [mph] with his sinker.

 I'm happy for T.J. because his arm has been bothering him a little bit. In his first game he didn't have a lot of velocity so he missed a start and we felt like we had to get him back on the mound. I thought he did a nice job. I thought he had good velocity, especially in the last inning.

 Ryan pitched well, he's pitched well all year. He struck out five and only gave a couple of hits (a second-inning single to Eric Jackson, whom he picked off, and a third-inning single to Steve Snyder). He doesn't walk guys. He's not overpowering but he throws all his pitches for strikes. If you don't put people on base, you win.

 It was a mixed bag. It was good enough. We saw what we wanted to see in terms of length, velocity, rhythm and tempo -- so it was another step forward.

 The first inning, I'm standing on that top step and I know he is from San Diego, where he always pitches in warm weather in paradise. I was shocked at how he pitched in those conditions.

 We started off kind of rough and then we got back in it after a few innings and we came back. We were just sort of rusty pitching wise coming off the Spring Break. We still hit the ball well and defensively we didn't have any errors. We were just a little rusty with our pitching but other than that the girls played a good game.
