 I particularly like the fact that there is no set list of books. Whatever books children choose counts towards their tally for rewards. It's all about reading for pleasure.

 The books the children get to choose from are always brand new books. We try to have a mixture of reading levels so none of the children picking a book will feel uncomfortable.

 The books we read change over the years as new books come out and they change over the grades. Books we are reading in fifth and sixth grade now may have been seventh and eighth grade books in the past, or the other way around.

 He himself has said you can follow the patterns and real events in his life by reading his books, which doesn't mean you can figure out his life by reading his books. Simply that the events in his life are the starting points for the books that he writes. But that's just the beginning.

 Bill Ponder has helped me a lot by bringing books and others are going to donate books, too. The cash donations will be used to finish a series and I would really like to get more youth and children's books.

 There is something for everyone at our book sales. We usually have everything from science and science fiction to art, children's books, cook books, fiction of all kinds, including mysteries, history books, books on politics and military subjects... just everything you could want.

Reading to children can increase their interest in books but because of the genetic factor, they may never take to the love of books that a parent may have no matter how hard a parent tries to teach it.

 The situation, I guess, is different than most of them. There are, I'm sure, other books with explicit material in them, but this is particularly egregious, because a book that's about comics ... and where children could look at them. There are other books that have text that's inappropriate for children, but because it's pictures, it's much more likely that children would be exposed to them.

 It is so important for parents to read in front of their child, so the child knows how much reading can teach them, ... I make sure I am reading books around my children to set good examples for reading throughout life.

 I was a librarian years ago, and I really liked reading the fun books (to kids) because the kids would always run and check those books out later. It did get them excited about reading, and I'm happy to see that.

 We are reading Dr. Seuss books, watching some of his videos, and listening to his books on tape.

 Paper and leather binding for books are greatly appealing. It's going to be a transitional period. A fellow growing appreciating books might never buy an electronic book. But someone growing up using a game boy will find using an e-book is a very natural way of reading. And they'll find it a lot more attractive than carrying around 50-pound pack of school books.
