 They didn't get more than one goal in the first two periods because of Manny. Pex Tufvesson is a genius, no doubt about it. They could have got a lot more.

 And Manny was supposed to have a big suite, but Murad took the big suite for himself and put Manny in a one-bedroom suite that Manny had to share with eight other people. And he didn't get his tickets (for family and friends) for the fight.

 He used his jab very effectively and so forth. We didn't expect him to do as well as he did. And he backed Manny up when he put Manny on the ropes where he didn't need to be.

 I have not spoken with Manny himself, but I have spoken with people who represent him. Coming to camp on March 1 does not bode well for Manny to be able to play. But Manny is eligible and obviously the Dominican team would love to have Manny play.

 I ain't going to beat everybody. If I'm a pitcher, I would take no chance with Manny [ Ramirez ]. Manny is a box full of surprises. He's very excited right now. He's very into it right now. The danger he is right now, I don't see myself pitching to Manny.

 That's Manny being Manny, because you know he's going to hit. Fans worry about him. Why? There's one thing Manny is known for - hitting. Don't worry about Manny Ramirez .

 We're just fortunate to start making him work a little bit. I was kind of upset in my second at-bat that I didn't make him work a little bit more than he should. I had that mindset going into the third at-bat, and I think Manny did too, and Manny ended up walking and I just got a mistake pitch.

 There are a lot of other great players in the tournament of course in addition to Manny, which is one of the reasons Manny would probably want to play, with the talent at that level. But I haven't spoken with Manny himself, and, in fact, I think I spoke to one of his representatives as late as yesterday and he hasn't ruled out playing. What he decides is really ultimately going to be up to him though.

 Questions tend to come up during periods of change. Periods of immigration, periods where technology transforms the way we live, periods where there's a big population explosion, so there are more people encountering each other on a daily basis. All of those kinds of situations, I think, create a shift and a reinvestigation of manners and what they are.

 One thing Manny always does is put his time and effort into getting ready. I'm not worried about that. Once it's April 3 and he's healthy, we'll be fine. Manny's one of those guys who if he didn't show up for Spring Training, I'd still know he'd be ready for the season when the season started.

 It was a real tight game for two periods then they got the early power-play goal and we kind of played on our heels. We had our chances though. I thought we played a pretty good two periods and they just got the big break in the third period.

 (Marco Antonio) Barrera had beaten Morales, and Manny had beaten Barrera, and I just think Manny took him lightly, believing he was on the downside. But we miscalculated. We won't do that this time. Morales will still have the reach and height advantage, but Manny will have speed going for him. And he knows he has to win this fight.

 Chris has been a No. 1 goaltender wherever he's been while Manny has never been given that opportunity. In 2001, when they were teammates, Manny made a great case to be the next No. 1 guy, but we ended up signing Dominik Hasek and later Curtis Joseph . This is a great opportunity for both Manny and Chris, and they've had a good rapport in the past, so I'm sure it will be a healthy competition.

 These content companies go in and out of consolidation phases. There are periods when they go independent, and periods where they're acquired by bigger conglomerates. This is one of those periods.

 Maybe Manny can take Espinosa for his roadwork or as an adviser. As we all know, Manny shows no mercy even with his sparring partners
