It finally caught up to us. We didn't have any emotion. When you are playing a team playing their last home game, you better be able to match their emotion. This game can't be played unless you are emotionally ready to play. You have to give Central Florida credit. They were ready to play. They did that. They made some shots ... and when you are emotionally ready to play, you make some shots.

I don't think we were ready to play from the opening tip. Once you get to the point where every game means the same, where every game you play for 48 minutes, then you become a great team. Right now, we are not.

There were so many factors to make us play so hard. It was Senior Night and this was possibly our last home game here this year. We had to win the game to help get us into the Final Four. Our kids really came out and got after it. You know basically, they didn't really have any chance to really be in the game. Since the minute the Auburn game ended, there were a lot of questions from the press - 'Can you follow this up?' Tech is 1-3 in games following an upset of a Top 25 team under Gailey, so it's certainly been a problem ... but I think right now there are enough senior leaders on this team that have seen what happened in the past and are determined not to let that happen again. If they lose this game it's not going to be because they weren't focused and ready to play.

Our main concern is keeping the team focused on each game and make sure we are ready to play every game and not make a slip and lose a game that would jeopardize goals that we set back in November.

I thought our kids played well. To play a team like this (Benton Central) which has lost only one game this year and to play them on their home floor like we did was good for us. Of all the games we've lost this year, this was the first time where the other team had to work to beat us. We didn't lose tonight because of some dumb mistakes.

We are in the single-elimination tournament point right now, and I don't think our kids are ready to be eliminated. I know this means something to this basketball team and they are going to come out and play like it means something.
